That is strange that you havent received your OWP. Definitely you need to call someone in CIC and find out atleast for this.

I received the OWP 4 months after applying (as they state) so in December 2015. Havent received the AIP but given they have requested for medical - it is a fair assumption that the relationship has been determined as genuine and they are proceeding with other formalities (such as medical). Now we wait for the Decision Made and Landing Interview. Hoping it happens soon.

I did my medical last month, 5 days later ecas showed that I had passed.
But i've never received OWP or AIP so I'm very confused what is going on with my application. I called CIC several times, the response is "general processing times is 26 months", so looking forward to reading GCMS notes

Were you out of status when you applied ? Coz otherwise as "malikhashmi" said you get your open work permit 4 months after you apply ..

hey
our daughter landed in jan 2016,she had a separate application
my husband's app was filed july 2015,now they r asking for our daughter's medical. my husband did his medical upfront.
we have sent our daughter's copr n pr card copies but no reply yet
should we go for her medicals? as they hv given only 30 days n i m afraid it will result in delay or refusal of my husband app
please guide

I was on implied status, I applied for WP but application was lost. SO technically I was out of status at that moment

That's the scariest part. I would assume that they had determined our relationship as genuine, but 2 days after medical I received a request to provide more proof of cohabitation, so I'm very confused and stressed out because of the whole process.

my OWP is going to expire in DEC and it doesnt look like im going to receive anything yet. so how do i extend the work permit please let me know
also i got the owp on the basis on my inland application

It's been over 16 months for me...should I call? What is the 16 month thing?

According to the CIC processing times, you should have received the AIP after 16 months. I believe you can call to find out your status after 16 months have passed and they have to cater to your call as you are officially past the time period they stated.

So an update,
Linked my app to myCIC account about a month ago or so,
this past Monday I received an email telling me I had a message on mycic account,
i checked it and it was the request of my medicals, which i just got done today.
hopefully i'm getting close to the end :)

Thanks. Where on the website do you see that? I know they used to break it down for Inland apps but didn't they remove that info?
We also haven't got a med request. I did do mine upfront, and according to my gcms notes they extended them. Hope that is the case.

Dear km9203,

you can find the information about processing time at this address: www(dot)cic(dot)gc(dot)ca/english/information/times/ (I cannot post link...)

It is indeed indicated 16 months for the AIP and 26 months for the whole process.
As you passed that time, you can call CIC and not only that, you could contact your local member of parliament. If you don't know who it is, you can find it here: www(dot)parl(dot)gc(dot)ca/
If you have a good one, he or she could make things move faster. They have privileged access to CIC and they really can make things move, but only after normal processing time has passed. Our local MP did a wonderful job for us when my wife's family applied for a visitor visa to come for our wedding. Processing time was passed by several weeks and they got their visa few days after our local MP called CIC.

We are august 2015 applicants. Our 16 months mark will be on December 12th. We ordered GCMS notes on November 2nd, therefore we expect to get them very soon. But the next day after the 16th months mark, If I did not get any news from CIC, I will contact my local MP to ask for help.

Its the same procedure .You can do it online, currently it is taking 32 days

I'm a July 6 2015 applicant and still nothing. My ecas just updated to medical received. My wife didn't even get SA yet.
I had hoped July applicants should have passed DM by now. So frustrating
