Hey guys

Update for me. July 2015 applicant and got a Medical request in the CIC online account. Any wisdom around how much time it will take to get a landing interview once we send back the medicals?

I have not received any AIP for sponsor application does that mean this is part of SIR now? (I read in a few comments)

Is landing interview a necessity? Anyone's experience around rescheduling a landing interview?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Did you send your med in 2015 and it expired? Or this is first time you're sending it?

I recall seeing concerns or complaints on this thread about CIC slowing down. I just posted this message in the 2016 thread. Re-posting it here for those who don't frequent it:

Hi everyone!
Just got a request for medical and I am concerned about the x-ray requirement because I am pregnant. Will CIC continue processing with partial results (i.e. without the x-ray), or will it be on hold until I am comfortable doing the x-ray? Is there a link to a previous discussion on this matter? Will I get AIP regardless of the medical test requirement?

July 2015 applicant.

Thanks for any insight you can offer!

B.
Did u sent ur medical along with the application?

I don't know on this one. If you didn't have an AIP you were probably in SIR, So they would have bypassed AIP. My guess is you will get AIP once you complete the medical (as they will switch your case back to normal processing from SIR to give you time to have your baby and finish the x-ray).

Medical isn't really needed until stage 2 (post AIP) since it's part of the admissibility check for the applicant.

thanks, we are inland so "landing invitation" doesn't apply right? (unless I'm confused by terminology again)

All Inland applicants eventually attend a Landing Interview/Appointment. This is where you receive your COPR. The officer then orders your PR Card for you.

That's kind of what I said -- except because her application is currently in the SIR stream, she does not have an AIP (that was one of the qualifications for cases to be in SIR). When she finishes the partial medical, CIC will be made aware of her pregnancy, which I am guessing will cause her case to be moved into the normal case processing stream, which will trigger the AIP.

They are currently processing SIR cases without any notifications at all. That means no SA, no AIP, no DM. Just: document requests, interview requests, PPR or Landing invitations.

You answered a question asking if AIP would be issued with a partial medical. I was merely pointing out that AIP is supposed to be issued once the foreign national has passed stage one...before (in theory) the medical is really needed by CIC.

This is shown in the flowchart in IP8.

Supposed to be, sure. I was pointing out that the OP may (probably) have (has) already passed that stage, and would get an AIP as a result of switching streams.

EDIT: Btw, they removed the flowchart from IP8 Appendix A.

I hope July 2015 applicants start hearing good news this month. All the best guys. Santa is coming with our landing interviews

Here's a link to the old version of the manual. The flowchart is on page 44.
