Hello amc90, Can you please acquire the letter from your lawyer and post what was written on it or rather the grounds of refusal? Typically a refusal letter will have the visa officer mentioning grounds of refusal as well as what law and amendment under which you have been refused. Yes you can appeal inland but not to the IAD(Immigration Appeals Department) but rather to a Federal court as it ranks higher than either body. Bear in mind, federal appeals take a long time, are very expensive and having a solid lawyer is advisable, and a federal court will not review your case or determine if your marriage is legal or not. You cannot submit any new evidence or previously withheld evidence. A federal court will only and ONLY determine whether the Visa officers decision was correct based on the evidence you provided.

As there was no interview or ask for additional proof or evidence from the CIC, suspect you guys might have been rejected based on criminality, or sponsor being on welfare, or some other technicality.

I am going to speak with him today as it was a lot to process initially. We both earn a good living (no welfare) and her fbi clearance showed no criminal history. In for a fight i think...

Re: Medical (upfront)
We submitted our application and then did the medical three months after. We sent a case specific enquiry and upload the document the doctor gave us. CIC acknowledge receipt of this via e-mail and then saw the update on GCKey week before that the medical had been passed.

Curious: What's GCKey (Government of Canada Key??) ? Is this some other system we can use to spy on the Immigration Officers?

I am sooooooooo happy today because after a long wait finally I got email today for my landing interview on August 30th.. ;D

Here is my timeline details..
Applied on June 2nd , 2015
First AOR August 11th, 2015
Second AOR Feb 22nd, 2016
Case specific inquiry June 22nd, 2016
Answer case specific inquiry on June 28th, 2016
Got acknowledgment that they received the reply on July 14th, 2016
Today (August 17th, 2016) I got Landing interview email.

I have quick question....just 2 days before I applied for my work permit extension and paid the fees. How I can withdraw the work permit application and get money back? please advice.

Hi Experts,

Initially when i applied for inland application..I paid $1040 that include the fee for permanent residency.

Today in my landing interview its written that
Proof you have paid the $490 Right of Permanent Residence Fee. This fee is not required for minors or Convention Refugees.
o If you have not yet paid this fee, you must do so on-line at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

Just want to double check do I need to pay this or I just need to show the old receipt to them that I paid this upfront.
