I'm thinking they probably hired some new, better employees. It would make sense for the same case worker to work on each file start to finish. The ones who were working there before september are still working at their usual snail's pace, and the newbies are blasting through everything making the old employees look bad. At least, that's my completely unfounded theory. It really sucks for the 2014 - early 2015 applicants, though. I think those people should be contacting their MPs soon.

Good morning,

I saw a change to the processing times ... It says that the work permit may be submitted after 5 months (instead of 17). What does this mean ... Should I call to notify them I still havent received my work permit. I was out of status due to my application being returned to me ... Should I be getting my work permit within this new time frame too ?

Where did you get 17? The OWP for inland has always meant to arrive within 4 months after sending the app..Because you were out out status I am not sure when you will get it?

Hi Sophiee,

Isnt usually SA and AIP given same day?.How far they can be apart.

I can confirm that the processing time used to say that you should apply for OWP after 16-17 months, typically after you receive AIP. Since you can now apply for OWP at the time you apply for PR, it arrives much sooner. However anyone who has to wait for AIP has to wait what used to say 16 months, but has since been changed to 5 months. Not sure if this means an overall decrease in processing time or what, hopefully!
