March-August applicants, I have sent emails to my MP and CIC minister to complaint about their ridiculous process, and request them process the applications in the order they were received. I highlighted fairness and transparency in the emails. Please do the same to bring their attention. We cannot just sit and wait, let's do something!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CIC updates for inland spousal sponsorship...
OWP application may be send after 5 months...
I'm out of status, does it mean i dont have to wait for 16 months to send my OWP app? its been 1 year since CIC recieved my inland application together with my OWP application. do i have to contact the CIC or they are working on my OWP now since the previous 16 months wait is change to 5 months???

Hey folks,

I'm an oct 2nd 2015 applicant. I just looked up Ecas and it now says "medical results received". Does this mean that my medicals are ok? I was a bit worried as I completed my medical in Jan 2014.

Does this mean I'm close to getting AIP and DM?

Thanks

I see you've posted this a few times in this thread and not had a reply. Maybe start a separate thread for your question so it doesn't get lost in this one.

You should apply for the restoration of status whe you sent your inland and owp!

Since you have been out of status for much longer than 90 days, you'll need to wait until you have first stage approval (AIP) before your OWP can be issued.

You're confusing the 16 months (how long it takes to get AIP, usually), with the 5 month [was 4 month] wait for those that do have legal status to receive their OWP.

Where are December 2015 applicants currently at,i have my aor and OWP.my application was received December 24th.

Because you were out of status and you had to submit restoration, I believe you will not get your OWP until you get AIP. You only get OWP within 5 months if you submit it along with your PR app and you are still in status. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

So that means the previous 16 months which says OWP application may be submitted is only for applicants with legal status? its kind a confusing, I believed the 4 months is for the OWP pilot program which you can include the OWP app on your inland app and if you dont include it on your inland app you can send the OWP app by mail or online anytime and you dont need to wait 16 months?

Prior to Dec 22, 2014 all Inland applicants had to wait for AIP before their OWP was processed, which was taking ~ 16-20 months. Those that sent the Inland application AND the OWP at the same time, while they still had legal status, benefited from something called Implied Status. It didn't give them the OWP any faster than an out of status applicant, but it did give them legal visitor status throughout the process.

When the Pilot Program was launched in Dec 2014, it gave those with legal status, their OWP in ~ 4 months.

Hopefully that explains why you haven't received your OWP yet.

For a person without status, receiving the AIP email is the first time they can actually breathe!

Thanks Ponga!
meaning, it takes 5 months instead of 4 months to proccess the OWP for applicants with legal status prior to the OWP pilot program. they should update the pilot program instead of 4 months which is now 5 months. does it make any sense?
