all the people who were busy doing the refugee processing now doing spousal? 25,000 refugees processed in 3 months to the point of PR card! hopefully now the same resources will be dedicated to the family class and in 2 months complete the process for everybody in the forum.

one can dream...
Maybe they realised if they can do that many in 3 months, then they have to work faster for spousal. There's no excuse.

Yes, hoping that is the case!

Mr John Maccallum Hon. Minister for Immigration had mentioned after the successful landing of 25000 refugees had been completed, that IRCC has a lot of learning from the handling of the Syrian refugee issue. He had stated that IRCC had acquired lot of inputs and experience about faster processing of files. Also, he had stressed on the need to apply this learning to the spousal sponsorship program.

Let's all hope these words soon translate into results. ☺ :)

it would take less than two months to work through the entire in- and out-land spousal application backlog

Hi Everyone,

I applied Inland application last year in June. But now I am moving to new address. How Can I change my address in the application? Is it easy to change online?

Please advice.

Hi all,
I've applied for PR thru PNP and got AOR. I'm planning to include my common-law partner in my application. Could anyone who has experience in adding common-law partner in your application please advise what steps I should do.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and guess what??

I applied for PR and OWP in July 23 2016(family class sponsorship)..I got OWP in NOV 19 and aknowledgement of receipt (AOR) in 18 MARCH 2016

They have been sending me contradicting mails and recanting telling me to ignore saying that its an error.
Today i got SURPRISE OF MY LIFE :o I got an email from cic instructing me to fill ADDITIONAL DEPENDENTS/DECLARATION(IMM0008) ,MEDICALS,ORIGINAL POLICE CERTIFICATE FROM MY COUNTRY(Which i sent a copy) they want original.,IMM 5406 (Additional family information ) and IMM5669 BACKGROUND DECLARATION.

I filled all these forms when was i sending in my application package,i did medical upfront in from a Dr. who is a panel physician...

I got so annoyed that i called my M.P to discuss whats the way forward before i could start to fill any form..She will respond on Monday cause they were closing the offices at 4pm...I wonder what these people do with applications sent to them..They are making these process so complex for nothing.

My friend cousin who was sponsored in the U.S has everything now.. Pple in the same time line pls share...THANKS

Pretty sure it's AIP. Well.. i can't believe how fast you got your AIP. I'm kinda shocked. I've applied in July 2015 like you and maybe it's time to start checking my email inbox and spam folder more often ,lol

I applied in January this year and didnt send my medical either.. I read in this forum earlier that people who sent their medical with their file was asked to send them again. May be CIC lost it or didnt receive it at all. So I was thinking to send them when they ask for it.

We did not do the medical either when we submitted our application (received by CIC 30-Mar-2016). I think we will do it in one year from when application was submitted because we also noticed that CIC tends to ask for it again.

We mailed our application on December 30th, 2015 and it was received on January 4th, 2016 according to Canada Post. Have yet to receive an AOR and nothing shows up in the online system to check application status - using the IMM5401 receipt number I have.

What are my next steps? Do we just continue waiting or is there another way to ensure something is being done with our application?

Thanks!
