I had my girlfriend apply for a visitors visa, and she got approved.

Now I will be going to my home country ( India) to get marry on social customs and planning on bringing her here using the visitors visa she obtained months earlier.

So once she lands in Canada, i will marry her in canada to get marriage certificate .

I am planning on applying for inland sponsorship.

What is advisable to apply for her PR application ? Inland or Outland ?

Is this an OK thing to do? Any response would be appreciated.

If she is able to come to Canada as a visitor, I think it would be better for you to apply inland. But for that, first she has to get here...

You can type on google search: cic processing time. I think you will get it. We cannot post link in this forum.

It's so suck. The processing time for this category never goes down, just goes up !!! We heard a lot of promise from new minister but ....
At the same time, it seems that there are August applicants having problem with OWP application. Is there any August applicant get OWP already. Please get us updated! Thank you.

I made a slight mistake on the Inland , Common Law , Application form and they sent the whole package back to me.
The Package was sent to them in September. Will the case worker continue with the application when I sent it back in, or will this error put me back to square 1 ? (back of the queue)

What kind of mistake was it? And what did they say on the letter that they gave you?

If the whole package was sent back, then you are back at square one.
If only one form was sent back and you were asked to resubmit that one, then you are good.

Thanks for reply.
I came to know that it take long time for processing inland. Is it true that applicant can not move out of Canada once file is submitted for inland ?

At what point (weeks/months??) after CIC receiving our application is it safe to feel that it will unlikely be sent back??

One Year Pilot – Issuance of open work permits to applicants for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class

Summary:

Effective December 22, 2014, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will commence issuing open work permits to certain spouse or common-law partner in Canada class (SCLPC) applicants before the approval in principle decision is made.

Applicants who have already submitted an application for permanent residence under the SCLPC class but have not yet applied for an open work permit should complete a work permit application, include the appropriate fee, indicating that they are applying for an open work permit, and submit it to the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville, at the following address:

CPC – Vegreville
WP - Unit 777
6212-55 Avenue
Vegreville, AB
T9C 1X6
If an SCLPC applicant has already received approval in principle, they have the option of applying for an open work permit online.

New SCLPC applicants should complete a permanent residence application and an open work permit applications, include the appropriate fees, and submit both simultaneously to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga.

CIC will begin issuing open work permits to eligible applicants in the current SCLPC inventory. SCLPC applicants whose permanent resident applications are received after December 22, 2014 will have their application for an open work permit processed within four months of receipt of their work permit application.

Standard medical requirements for open work permits apply.

After one year, CIC will assess this pilot and determine how to most effectively process open work permits for SCLPC applicants moving forward.

HI TO EVERYONE THAT MADE INCORRECT FEES FOR THEIR OWP APPLICATION TOGETHER WITH THEIR PR APPLICATION UNDER SPOUSE:

I COULD REALLY USE SOME ADVICE

I have sent my application for PR and along with it my OWP Application which I've only paid $100. That being said, I am missing $155. My application was sent on December 7, 2015 and CIC MISSISSAUGA received it the next day. Now my VISITORS VISA is expiring on DECEMBER 24 2015. I was thinking of sending another OWP APPLICATION to VEGREVILLE along with my ORIGINAL RECIEPT IF $100 and additional $155 and state on my cover letter that I have paid insufficient fees.

My questions are:
1. would they return my whole PR APPLICATION or just the OWP Application?
2. If they do return my OWP application, should I send a copy of my OWP APPLICATION that I've sent to VEGREVILLE? Saying I have sent another separate OWP to VEGREVILLE due to insufficient payment?

I guess it's months... but hard to say how many. I happened before that apps were returned even after AOR. But if you didn't send outdated forms and you have signed everywhere where it's required, then you will be okay.

1. Just the OWP
2. You should send a brand new app (you can use the same payment for the $155)
