Ok I need some advice here. I'm in a 2 year masters program and by the end of it I should be eligible to apply for a 3 year OWP. Why would I apply for the family class OWP if they would grant me a year or 2 when I can apply through after my graduate degree?

Pros, cons, thoughts? Anybody?

Family class will give you 2 years from the beginning of your application and by the time you finish your master the process will be done and you will be a permanent resident.

What advice do you need? for me it;s cristal clear which way would be easier for you

family class>OWP within 4 months and be able to work anytime you want>PR within 20 month
OWP after master program> 1st you have to finish the master>apply for OWP and wait to get it or apply for ENTRY EXPRESS and be PR

I sent my visa extension almost 3 months ago and my inland 33 days ago. Both have no replies yet

To log in you will need to use the sponsor's details. If your wife is your sponsor then use her birth date ans her surname as well as the country she was born in.

if both of you have a UCI (like if you have applied for a canadian visa or any permit before this), then both of you can check the status of your application through ECAS

I think he meant that he should apply for PR through family class, but apply for the 3 year PGWP instead of the 2 years family class OWP. Which I think is a good idea.

You made my PR process application way easier...
I have a question and I had tried to find an answer but didn't quite get it.
Anyways, in a few words this is the story. My common law partner is sponsoring me through Family class (we sent the app on April 27th, received on April 29th, AOR July 23rd, OWP issued July 22nd - but still not received- address change issues). My status in Canada right now is as a worker (with a closed work permit valid until 2017) and I have a valid multiple entries visa.
And here comes the question: Do you think I can leave Canada for a couple of weeks and then re-enter?
The CIC agent didn't quite answer my question, she sent me an email with all the info stating that I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO REENTER Canada. And this seems pretty stupid (since I still have a valid status).
Any info will be appreciated!

hello admin, I received my wife's OWP from my mail box today 24July.
Pls update.

Its just an A4 Sized single document.(visa). I was was thinking they will request for her passport first b4 issuing the visa. Anyway
for those who has received theirs., did you receive the same A4 size visa???????

that's just the work permit. you need to apply for visa separately.

Contact your MP! If they are helpful and willing to send an inquire, CIC has to answer them.

I did , they offered help only if my application exceeded processing time. I also made enquiry on CiC website and got answer yesterday stating that they checked my eCas and everything is ok with it, but i can log in only with sponsor info at this stage. So i went to check my wife eCas and same story ,it's showing completed application from 2012.

Hello, can someone add me into the spread sheet please.

I sent inland application for my wife on May 21 2015 from Edmonton, CIC received on May 25, 2015, we received AOR on July 30, 2015, still waiting for OWP (hope to see it soon), no upfront medical exam, but we did all police record check. Country of origin China. eCase showed in process on July 29, 2015.
