Thanks! Yeah ,that's what i thought. I'm thinking to offer some money to one of tenants if he finds anything in mailbox on my name or maybe i might not move at all for now.

My eCAS is still not working and it's starting to freak me out a little bit (it's been a week now).I've been searching through forum about it and it seems like only few people had issues with it.
Kinda wondering is everything ok with application... I've recieved AOR tho...?
I tried to write to CiC on website, called them.. nobody can really tell me anything. :'(
Contact your MP! If they are helpful and willing to send an inquire, CIC has to answer them.

It's strange that some people seem to get it so much quicker than others

That's because CIC uses a "pile" based system. Meaning that after your application has been sitting in a pile for a few months it gets broken into a different pile that is plopped on a desk and processed in the order it is in that pile. If you are on the top of a pile you get fast processing, if you're on the bottom, you don't.

There's logic to this however, when applications take a different amount of time there's at least the illusion that *some* work is involved other than just a procedural approval based on how long you've waited.
The process is archaic, I believe the whole office shares a single abacus and they only have one wheelbarrow to transport documents between their desks.

Yeesh, I hope I get to the top of the pile before they run out of ink on their "APPROVE" stamp, because who knows when they'll refill that... ;)

Hahaha! That's a funny image. I'm picturing CIC rejecting applications because the APPROVE stamp ran out of ink, and the stamp is the final authority.

Hi Everybody,

I'm new here and I would like to share my story and some questions please.

My wife is a permanent resident and we mailed the inland application (spouse sponsorship) on March 31, 2015. CIC notified us in an email that they had received our application on April 2, 2015. I check the status of the application frequently and it says they started processing the application on May 29, 2015.

I'm currently doing my masters and should graduate by May 2016. Of course I'm paying international student fees and the school would not waive those differential fees since I'm international. The school is in Nova Scotia but we submitted our application in Toronto because I'm currently on co-op there. In Ontario, the Ministry of Education allows the spouses of permanent residents to pay domestic tuition fees but clearly that is not the case in Nova Scotia.

1. I have a work permit for the sake of my co-op and so I have not applied for an OWP with the application we sent in. My work permit expires on May 31, 2015. When should I start applying for an OWP?

2. The tuition fees story I mentioned is irritating since I'm paying an excess of approximately $20,000 so I thought I would reach out to the MP to get help. We have an appointment with someone from the MP's office on August 24, 2015. Do you think this might speed things up a bit at CIC? All I'm trying to do is to avoid paying extra fees at school. I have already paid for 2 semesters and I have 2 other semesters left and I would appreciate it more if this money was spent over something more useful.

Date Application Received by CIC : Apr 2, 2015
Date AOR Received : N/A
Country of Origin : Egypt
Canadian City of Residence : Halifax (co-op in Toronto and application submitted in Toronto)
OWP Received according to CIC. : Not sent with application
OWP Received : N/A
Medical sent with app? : No
Police check sent with app? : No but signed a Schedule A form authorizing them to perform a police check

Thanks,
Saleem

Hello,

I have being trying to chanage the address online but as I have not received the AOR it seems I am not able to change it.

Is there any other way to change it?, any suggestion?

I called to the CIC but they sent me again the same link about how to change the address online, I may was not that clear about the issue.

The other thing they told me is about they are supposedly opening applications received in April so they do not warranty they will "open mine (sent on June 12th) before my visa expires (Nov 2015)" which makes me get worry because I thought I got "implied status by the moment I send my application". So I am confluse about when the implied status starts applying.

Thanks! :D

Thanks for sharing, I've added you!

I don't really understand what do you mean by that you submitted your application in Toronto. There is one address for inland sponsorship regardless your residence.
You def. should apply for a new work permit at the beginning of December, as we don't know if they will continue the pilot project (I assume your work permit valid until May 31, 2016).
The MP cannot speed up the processing in any way. Sometimes different institutions have different rules, so you can try and ask around than change schools if you find a better one.

It starts when your visa run out if your new application was received by CIC before that date.

Submitting an Inland application does NOT give you implied status. You needed to include an Open Work Permit (OWP) WITH the application. If you did not, you should apply for the OWP now before your status expires. The total amount for the OWP is $255

Good news for me!
Received an OWP today, it was issied 30-07-2015.

BUT the thing is, they didnt send it to my PO Box that ive been checking every day, but they send to residential address. We just decided to check it out of the blue and there ya go! The letter was sitting there for almost 3 weeks we didnt even know! They almost sent it back :-X
So weeks of stress for nothing! lol

But im so happy now. Can finally relax.
Took exactly 3 month from the day I applied till the work permit was issued.

:D
