Hi,

I just logged in to check our application status and it says:
Sponsorship Application Status: In Process
Permanent Residence Application Status: Received

We applied in November 2014.

I thought that when applying inland both applications are processed together. Wonder why the PR app is not in process yet. Should I call them?

Thanks!

1. In theory, sponsorship is processed first. Once qualified, they will start PR application process.
2. Don't trust the online status. You are lucky to see "In Process". Lot of people only see "Received" even when they get landing interview.

What's more useful is to click on the status and it will list all the communications they send you. As long as you don't miss any of those. You are fine.

So don't worry. :)

As xandt mentioned, the sponsorship portion is processed first. The next part is the assessment of the relationship that the applicant has with his/her sponsor. Once the relationship has been proven, the applicant receives AIP (Approval in Principle). After that, the applicant's portion is processed, which is basically medical, criminality and security checks.

HI guys!

I got my PR card sometime over Christmas. It was issued on Dec 16 and I landed on Sept 24.
Not sure when it arrived exactly as I wasn't checking the mail too often.

I'm glad it's finally here, but I think I'm even more happy that I don't need to call the Call Centre and talk to those people anymore!!!

It states that the local office (Calgary) will contact you.

Does anyone know how long does this usually take and secondly do they contact through email or letter ( regular mail)

They will send you a letter through regular mail of your landing appointment date.

Any idea, how long does this process take ?

take a look at the inland spreadsheet, there you'll find how long it is for Calgary.

I called CIC to change the address, does any one know how long before the address shows up changed on the CIC website.

Or how long before its updated in their system ?

You should probably apply for a renewal now, so you get it in time for your current card's expiry.

I'm joking I'm joking!

...or am I?
