anyone similar situation
The timelines posted on the website don't really make much sense to me. They creep by 1 or 2 days per week, then they jump by more than a month.

They claim these are worst case numbers, but I have a strange feeling that they've scrapped that and are now posting wild averages.
Looking at the spreadsheet, more than half of January 2014 has not seen anything beyond AOR, and somewhere around half of February has not seen anything either.
But, we've got someone from April 2014 who already landed somehow, and the site is reporting March 2014.

Perhaps the date posted on the site is just the oldest date that one particular case worker has on their desk.

Their filing system is a collection of piles that get moved around, and they have no ability to actually do thing in order, nor do they have any file tracking ability.

Talk to a clown at the call center, maybe since it's past the processing date they'll actually talk to you.

Hi everyone.
First off - congrats on everyone getting good news!

I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight. Very confused and frustrated at the moment.

My application was received on: JAN 23rd 2014

I got an email about a month ago stating that my application was being transferred to CIC Etobicoke for further assessment. They didn't give us SA or anything, but just told us it was being transfered and we might be contacted for an interview.

We aren't worried about an interview because we are completely genuine and have nothing to hide, but what worries us is how long it may take until we hear something. It's really starting to get to us, as many of you probably understand :(

Does anyone have any experience or info on my situation or being transferred to Etobicoke CIC ? And the time it may take until we are contacted?!

Would really appreciate some help.
Good vibes to all of you!
Unfortunately, when a file is transferred to the local office, you are removed from the 'normal processing' timeline. Likely they have questions surrounding your application and would like an interview with you, as they suggested. Those USUALLY take anywhere from 12 - 24 months just to be called in for the interview. If after they have interviewed you and agreed the relationship is solid, they will then send your file back to the normal processing office (sometimes they keep/process them themselves, but it is rare) and you will then go through the procedure. On the plus side, if there is one to be had, it usually does not take long to receive AIP from that point, however getting full PR and landed can still be many months out from there.

Best of luck to you while you wait!

Hi everyone,

I applied for PR in April, 2014 in QUEBEC. Already got my SCQ, my husband was approved as a sponsor, and today I received a letter saying that I meet eligibility requirements for permanent residence and that they are pleased to inform me that processing of my application has been completed. CIC in Montreal will contact me to arrange appointment.

First of all, is this letter the one that's called "approval in principal"?

Now, my questions are to those of you who are familiar with QUEBEC regulations:

1. Can I already apply for Medical Insurance? I remember reading that if I have this kind of letter from CIC + my SCQ, I'm eligible, but now I can't find where I've seen it.
2. Can I apply for free French courses now?
3. Can I apply for Open work permit?
4. Do I have to extend my visitor visa (it expires in a month)?

And finally, is there anyone who's been through this interview in Montreal? How long did it take them to invite you and what was asked?
Thank you all!!

That means they have finished and approved your PR and when Montreal contacts you for your interview it is your LANDING interview. You will walk out that door with your COPR in hand.

1. Yes, as soon as you have your COPR in hand you are eligible for medical.
2. Once you have your COPR in hand, yes you can apply for and receive free French courses.
3. You will be a PR and won't need an OWP. Save the money, you're almost finished
4. No, PR's don't require visas' of any kind

Congrats on being at the finish line.

Hi leon : This is what i get today from Cic, Your application for permanent residence as a spouse or common-law within Canada. It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However,a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met.these requirements include medical, security, and background checks for you and if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time you cannot become a permanent resident until you all your family members have met these requirements. My question is if all my family member have to do medical, security and background check even there are not in Canada and even i didn't apply for any of my family member to come to Canada i don't have my own kid my family member are only brother's what should i do?

Congrats!! I also am waiting for my date for landing interview at the Montreal office. I got DM a little over a month ago, no reply from Montreal yet.
-I applied for RAMQ (health insurance) as soon as I got my AIP. I got a letter saying it was approved and now I'm just waiting for my card in the mail.
-I haven't applied for french yet. I'm not sure how to go about it. If you get through with your french application please let me know.
You can send for an open work permit, but PR should be coming soon, might be a waste of money, but It is your choice.
I hope this was helpful.

Congratulations!

Did you send the CSQ separately to Mississauga office? Or it was just the MIDI who may have sent it to CIC?

Hello,

I am JUne2014 applicant and got married in September.I informed CIC about the change.Medicals and everything is done.
My wife is in Canada on dependant visa and I have closed work permit.
I have been asked to fill up the Spousal Questinnaire to proceed further with my application.

The questionnaire asked about her Visit to Canada, but as per CIC we can not bring the spouse to Canada .Should I update that my wife is already in Canada or should I refrain from mentioning it in questinnaire ? Please advise.

Are you the sponsor? I'm not sure I fully understand, is either you or your wife a Canadian citizen or PR?
