Hi,

Does anyone know how to report the birth of a child in Canada? We applied for inland in Nov 2014 and attached a pregnancy confirmation note from our doctor.
Should we mail a copy of the birth certificate? Or is there a fax/email option?

Thanks!

You should send the birth certificate by snail mail:
CPC Mississauga
P.O. Box 6100, Station A
Mississauga, ON
L5A 4H4

Fax it or scan and email it 905-803 7392

Thanks for the fax number. We will attach a cover page with the file number and UCI as well.
Does this have any effect on the processing time of the application?

Unfortunately it won't speed anything up but at least they will have no doubt that your relationship is genuine.

That's what I thought. Oh, well. Thanks for the comment!

Hi tiffyali,

Let me know if you hear anything. Mine says application received on Feb. 14,2014. We should hear from them this week.

So my husband officially became a Permanent Resident this morning. Thanks to everyone for your help and support during this process and good luck to everyone who is still waiting. :)

It's so exciting to hear people getting their AIP's, and that are working on apps from 2014!!!! Congratulations you guys!!! I have a question though... Once you get your AIP do they send your open work permit, and can you apply for OHIP?

If you applied for the OWP with your application, you have the possibility to get it before AIP under the pilot program. There's a thread somewhere tracking that.
Otherwise it should come after AIP at some point.

For OHIP, previously you were able to get it with a type 27 OWP and nothing more, but now I believe they are asking that you also have a full time job and I also there's a 3 month delay, where it won't start for 3 months after they approve you for it.

Hey Guys!
I am the person sponsored and I received AIP e-mail a week ago and this what my E-cas shows this morning:
1-We received your application for permanent residence on January 14, 2014.
2-We started processing your application on May 13, 2015.
3-Medical results have been received.
4-A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.
My husband ''the sponsor'' E-cas is also updated with ''Decision made'' and that a letter has been sent to him on May 13, but didn't receive it yet.
