Hi all ,

Happy new year.

Quick question.

My wife sponsored me through inland Jan-2014 but since than god has blessed us with baby boy. Should I contact cic and send in his birth certificate??? I know by sending in his birth certificate it will make our case stronger but I'm just worried incase they ask us to fill addition forms or send in new app with son information added into it (even tho he is Canadian)..

Please suggest what you guys think or if anyone else been in this scenario. Please advise,

Thank you,
Jay

You should send them a short explanation letter (with UCI, file number and every personal information), a copy of the birth certificate and an updated IMM5406. Don't wait till they request!

I think it's always advised to notify CIC about this kind of changes, sooner the better.
You sent your PR app in August, right? So you already included your daughter in the family information form, don't you?

We didn't include her in the application because my wife called CIC and ask them if we should include her in the application and the agent told her she don't need to be in the application because she is already a Canadian citizen and wont be sponsored.

Someone got OWP today in their mailbox. July 2014, AOR August 2014

You daughter does not need to be an applicant, but she should to be in the family member list form.

I'm hoping to get some info from the inland applicants. We are planning on applying for my husbands PR and OWP when we arrive to Canada. We are working on a very short time line as I have a job offer for July 01. I can't seem to find any info if he needs police certificate from Italy when applying inland. I know he needs to submit them if the application is done outland but I'm not sure inland. TIA

Police checks are required no matter how he applies (Inland versus Outland). He needs to provide one from every country where he has lived (for 6 months or more) since age 18, EXCEPT for Canada.

On IMM5406 you need to list your parents, all your siblings and all your children, no matter if they are Canadians, or they have no intention to accompany you in Canada.

Thanks sophieee. if I had know this then I would have done that. but we were relying on the call centre agent in knowing what they are doing so we asked before sending the application in. at that time we didn't get her birth certificate either so I guest its a blessing in disguise now because we can send it along with the form and some pictures of her at birth.
