Submitting an OWP with the application would only give "implied status" to those that have legal status when they submitted the application. The "implied status" would kick in once the legal visa status expires.

The OWP submittal would not given an "out of status" any "implied status" because there was no status to begin with.

Also keep in mind, if you are on a study visa, you should not submit a OWP with the application as once you get OWP status, you can no longer continue your studies. You must quit. You should only submit your study visa extension if you want to continue your studies under "implied status".

Hi there experts, seniors..

I would like to clarify my wife situation. Today her work permit expired. Since August 2013 she don't have work as she was pregnant and gave birtg last January 2014. Is she under the implied status then?thank you

I just answered this same question in the Inland 2013 thread.

Heres a link to the petition for those who haven't seen it:

I do sympathize with the inland applicants awaiting for their PR and do support motions or actions or petitions that want to help resolve the situation better.

But unfortunately I will not sign any petition that favours one group over the other. Both outlanders and Inlanders are equally important, at least to me.

After all the outlanders were also affected with increased in their processing time. They also didn't sign up for the unexpected increased in timeline processes as well.

I would sign the petition if it calls for decrease timelines to both inland and outland PR processing.

I need some help, I need to send additional family form again... Just wanna know do I and my spouse need to send additional family form separately.

Also my spouse has adopted child so Should I include him in my additional family form and mention adopted son.

Kindly let me know thanks

I sponsor my spouse along with OWP and now she enjoying the implied status from last week. As her visa expired by the end of this month and along with her Alberta health care. What you people suggest. Is it wise to apply for visitor visa or not. Any suggestion in this regard highly appreciated.
Or its not wise to apply for it, because due to any reason if visitor visa rejected than i am not sure that if she still have implied status.

So kind of a weird (but good I think!) update. I can now log into ecas with the the applicant name and UCI (receipt number seems to do nothing). It takes us to a window that says permanent residence application received, and no other information. I think this might be the AOR substitute for those who opted out of email...although it seems very weird that we can't access any other information (would love a file number for example!) I guess we'll call in again and see if we can get it that way.

By chance are any who applied around March and able to get into Ecas getting more info than the basic "we have received your application"?

I already applied to sponser my spousee via inland application along with OWP last week. She currently has study permit which going to expired by the end of this month. After this month she will automatically get implied status.
But she has no more alberta heath coverage after her study permit expired by the end of this month.

Either i can apply for visitor or study visa to get her visa extended to secure alberta heath coverage. Any suggestion in this regard highly appreciated if by any chance her visa rejected so do that give negative impact on her sponsership application or ot wisely yo teply.

Hello Everybody

I am sending my Inland application next week. But my Post grad open work permit is expiring in Feb 2015. Should I send my extension application with my spousal application or should I send it later. Will I have to leave my job in february? How many chances are there that I will get extension upto that time?

Would appreciate if u could help me decide what Im going to do.

Im a temporary foreign worker here. My work permit will be expiring on January 7, 2015.My employer will not renew me again because it's hard to get a LMIA from the government.

Me and my boyfriend applied for the family sponsorship under common-law. We are been together for 2 years and we are pretty sure we meet all the qualifications for being a partner. We submitted the application last March 18, 2014 and got an AOR last August 8,2014.

Since the processing times keeps longer and longer what is the best way to have the legal status here? I don't even include an OWP application on my papers. Please help me.TIA
