I don't understand why inland process for stage 1 is sitting at July 2013 from past 3-4 months.

Wish Cic knows what were are trying to ask them.

Hi there,

Please add me to the spreadsheet.

Send my inland application + OWP on April 2014
AOR: August 2014

Quick question: I am currently working under implied status (my OWP expired on June 2014) and just got a call from a HR company for a position that is probably better for me, can I legally change jobs during implied status?

You can switch jobs within the same company. But not with a different company.

OWP = open work permit. You can work for any employer you want.
Yes I was already employed with my previous OWP but currently under implied status because it expired last June.

Wait so you had an OWP before implied status? Implied status means that you have to honour the conditions of your previous work permit, but if it was open, then you can change companies. Right?

Hi!
I am here waiting too:)
Application received by CIC in January, AOR in May. Message from CIC in June saying to resend background declaration because of one month gap in my personal history, sent a few days later.

"You must stay in Canada and meet the conditions of your original work permit."

If your original work permit is OPEN, that means that you wouldn't be breaking any laws by changing companies!

It is a good point. However I believe once it is expired and under "implied status" , you are then stuck with the same employer until you get a new OWP. I can be in the wrong on this premise. But won't the new employer be hesitate to use an expired temp SIN to employ you? This is why I think you are "stuck" with the same employer once you go into "implied status".

Thanks to all the quick responses everyone! I have decided to focus on school while waiting. I have enrolled to an online American school in which ships to Canada, books etc. It's only 50.00 a month and I figure I'll have my BA by the time first stage approval completes. Something to do :D

Would love to know what school that is. Was it expensive for all the books? I am an American too. I took the Inland route knowing full well that it was the longest wait, but I've got a variety of reasons for doing so. Need to kill some time as well!
