Hi there. i am new here. We just submitted an inland application last week. Does anyone know how many months will CIC tell us that they have our application? We are so stressed out. Thank you.

Can I please add my name to the list?

Wei Ting Chen

I finally got AOR from Mississauga today 5/8/2014

Call them and see what they say?

I called CIC, I was told that there is no problem with my application and it is under process. She added when a file is found incomplete, they send it back immediately. But she doesn't know the reason why I didn't get an AOR.

Hi wei ting. What does AOR mean and how long have u filed ur application? Before u recieved an email from cic that they have recieved it? Thank you.

Last Decemeber, they returned the entire package to me because one of the document I used was outdated. I resubmitted it, and got the email today with file number.
I think that means the application is at least good, and they can go on to process it.

File number is all I need because I can now buy my wife MSP.

Wei ting sorry for these questions when did u first submitted ur application? And how long did they sent it back to you because of that document. Thank you

Hopefully, but you may have to fight with HIBC (Health Insurance BC) and/or MSP, because for some strange reason, they say that MSP is only available once the applicants portion of the sponsorship application is in-process (known as AIP). The requirement is that CIC has accepted for processing, the application. Accepted...for processing!

Further to that, there should be no waiting period, since your application was received on Jan 24, 2014. The wait time is the balance of month one, plus two additional months. Your eligibility date should have been April 1, 2014

Good luck!

Can somebody please help me with this question how many months after CIC will send u an email they recieved ur application? And when they need an additional document how many months will they bring it back to you? Please help.

Hi Anng!

Try not to panic at this stage. If you have just sent your application, the next step is to wait for your AOR (Acknowledgement of receipt). This is an email sent from CIC to the sponsor. This basically lets you know your application arrived & has been put aside to be processed. You'll then be able to search for your details online (hopefully!). In the past it has taken about 1 month before you hear anything, BUT since January 2014, many of us have been waiting about 3 months because of a change in CIC offices. Hopefully timescales will reduce over the coming months, but there's no guarantee. I have still not received an AOR since applying in January.

After AOR, you need to wait for your first stage approval. After that, the second stage. The current timescales for these change, but you can see here for weekly updates. At the moment it's 9months + 8months.. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp If CIC need additional documents from you, I'm sure they will contact you.

To keep track of your application in comparison to others that have recently applied, send a message to Sophieee who I'm sure will be happy to put you onto the spreadsheet..(there is a weblink in my signature) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArK2RVjQ5v59dFlqaGRPN3JxaGY4Nk9ucTZxV1Z0NEE&usp=sharing#gid=0

Thank you atticusfinch.
