The first stage approval will take 14,months.. The second stage will take 8 months. Some of the 2013 applicants havent receive anything yet and they'd waited for more tgan 14months. This is frusttatingHollianni said:All I can say is wow.....This is such a long process! I am feeling incredibly frustrated and confused. Can someone please tell me there will be an eventual end to this...
My husband is a Canadian and I am an American. We sent our app in Feb. 2014. with an open work permit. We did not receive anything from CIC until June, which was a letter stating that they received our packet Feb.12,2014. Its now Nov. 2014 and we have heard nothing. Is everything okay? Is this normal? Whats the next step here? I am starting to freak out alittle bit. And now I read that you cannot be grant a work permit?
My wife is getting crazy since shr stayed home. Although she is looking aftet our son but still its different if she is working as well. She told me that she's a bummer and wants to work so she can buy whatever she wantsHollianni said:Do you know if after the 1st stage if I will be able to a real person again? I always thought I would enjoy it if I never had to work again, but this driving me bonkers! I don't know if I can take 6 months, during winter, with no purpose. I have been considering going back to the US to work, but I know that really isn't a viable option. What is everyone else doing during this time?
Radium,my application was received by cic on September 16th,2014, and I already have received my AOR (a week ago).Radium said:Is there anyone who filed spouse sponsorship application in Mid September 2014 and got AOR from CIC?

I'm Feb.2014 applicant too and I'm itching to go back to work, jesshhhh.....I'm wasting a year of missing work and no income coming in. I just hope that during Spring Time I am working again and earning money, we have a renovation to do in our house that we just got. I desperately need money to help out my partner, he's been working 80 hours a week these daysVioletBlue said:Not that I know of....or not yet at least :/
Hopefully that will dramatically decrease...they are working on Aug 2013 apps.Jamesdavid3 said:14 months now for just the 1st stage....14 months before they EVEN OPEN UP YOUR APPLICATION once its sent out....
WTF IS GOING ON FFS
Since CIC still can't proceed one week of apps in one week, we can prepare some more increase. It's really good that we are getting AIPs, but it takes longer and longer to get one. They need to work faster to decrease the waiting time.VioletBlue said:It sucks!! But at least we r almost there...more than half way waiting for 1st stag...hopefully they don't extend it again
