Hello Guys,

I am on PGWP with 396 points in Canada living with my GF. She is a Canadian citizen.

After the first draw, I am looking into applying through Common Law ( nothing sure ). My question is what is timeline like for these. I heard it can take up to 18 Months of processing. Really ?

I am currently living in Canada with her.

Why would CIC be refunding your RPRF (*gulp*)?!?!
Why would CIC reimburse you if you received a positive decision?

Check if you can apply outland, maybe your country has faster processing times.
good luck!

That is my question. That's what worries me.

The first email did say that:

"A final decision concerning the granting of permanent residence status will be made at that time"

Me too!

The ONLY way this can be good news, is if you paid the RPRF twice; once when you paid the fees when you applied and then if you paid again after AIP.

Congrats to everyone that has had good news lately! :)

An update to my confusing situation...

We were requested by CIC for more information (proof of marriage certificate, which by the way they already had) with a deadline of Jan. 21st to submit. On Jan 21st I sent an email to the officer that contacted us just on the off-chance that they would actually tell me the status of our application. I got a response today that they are still not able to continue with the process because we're missing CSQ. We've had that since the end of November. We were also told by the Quebec offices that they electronically submit a case number to CIC to prove that they have given us the approval to continue the sponsorship process. Now CIC is saying this never happened. Thank goodness we have the physical CSQ letter, now we have to fax that to CIC. And then wait until they get back on our file again. This is so frustrating... At least maybe if we hurry up and get this sent in, it will be done soon. Also, it's actually really good that we seemed to get a nice officer, they could have denied our application just on the fact that the CSQ was due by Dec. 22nd. I will be so glad when this is all over.

I found the receipt for the fee payment at the time of application, it 's over $1000, so I guess I probably did pay the RPRF twice :) feel a little big better now! Thanks!

The fees are 475 (principal applicant) + 75 (sponsor) + 490 (right of PR fee) = 1,040$

So, did you pay the RPRF after AIP as well? If so, you may have in fact paid it twice.

That's crap!! So much for the whole " moving files from Vegreville to Mississauga will speed up processing"
Complete crap indeed!!!! How many weeks have gone by where CIC has moved one day, if that?? There are 157 days between September 10/13 (the date CIC says it is working on applications) and February 13/14, the date CIC received our application. If this trend continues - where processing one day a week of applications is considered "movement", we will hear in 157 weeks (or three years!!!!). When you look at how many applications have been processed over the past year, is this really so out of the realm of possibility... I think I may lose my mind! :'(

I received my DM last Friday and today I received a pre-landing via email. They attached me a file in Word and I need to print it out and fill up some information (Date of birth, Entry date to Canada,....) then return it to them within 5 days after receiving their email.
Can anyone tell me whether I have to send it via email or Canada Post? And how about the photos, I send it together or bring it during my landing interview?
Thanks

I'm at the same point, losing my mind!!! We're Dec 2013 applicants. One year with one income and the praying everyday that CIC will get their act together... :'(

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone here who helped me fron the time i compiled my app papers up until present while were all waiting for any news about our applications.

Thank you! Its a terribly long wait but just hold on, it'll come to an end soon, and we'll all start living normally in Canada.
