So, we got our DM yesterday and today we got our landing letter. Via email. Landing date is February 3rd! We're in Edmonton.

Guys I just got a phone call ( no caller I d ) from CIC Edmonton !! They just got my passport today , and just asked me if I want to land tomorrow !! Tomorrow at 9 am will be the day . I'm so happy

Is it true that there is only a set now of PR's that given out each year. Is it a quota system where once the number is over the quota, they wait till the next year?

Yeah that's the chatter but there is no quota assigned to spousal sponsorship, unlike PGP. If there was any quota, it would mean to get up a goal to meet the quota. In other words, if the numbers processed are low in comparison to actual applications submitted, then they set a quota as a high number to reduce the backlog. It is not "oh we reached the quota, thus stop the applications until next year". That is not how it works.
