Hi everyone!

I am October, 3rd 2013 applicant and last week I called the Call Center and this nice lady told me my OWP was approved and sent in the mail, we still have no AIP but this is definitely a breath of fresh air for us, I still haven't received it but we are hoping to get it anytime soon now. ;D

Interesting, but...how did you answer question 2 and 3 from your landing interview:

If you answered no to either question, I too wonder what happens now.
2,3,4 were all paired up in one question. I said no.
havent commited a crime, havent been deported or no removal proceedings have been done for me, no dependants that ive not already declared.
when I walked in to the interview .. I was landing on an expired passport because of everything that has been going on with CBSA.
the 3) asked to leave .. was kinda ambiguous for me because I have not been sent any notice for deportation or to leave. I think when you apply for refugee protection they issue a conditional departure order for you saying once the application is complete and denied you have to leave. if you don't leave 30 days after decision it becomes a removal order.

It was from CBSA when i was talking to them about my passport that they said you have a removal order against you so thats why we cant release your passport directly to you. CIC will request it and do the whole process on it.

I just hope I haven't made a big mistake.

I think that CIC is/was fully aware of your situation while they processed your application. It would be very VERY unlikely for them to not know about your previous refugee application. I wouldn't concern myself too much regarding this situation since once you become a PR you can't be issued a deportation order. I am quite sure that any previous paperwork like that it 'cancelled'.

hello everyone! i am just confused for the correct mailing address for the OWP application under the new pilot. It says on CIC's email that i have to sent it to this adddress
CPC – Vegreville
WP - Unit 777
6212-55 Avenue
Vegreville, AB

but when i double checked the instruction guide for mailing the application it says
Citizenship and Immigration - Work Permit
CPC-Vegreville
6212 - 55th Avenue, Unit 555
Vegreville, AB
T9C 1X6

Anyone who had same confusion with me? thanks in advance

As Alurra71 already mentioned this really should be a non-issue, but I had no idea a person could land with an expired passport.

I had no idea too, until computergeek here pointed that out to me.

Again, I think this depends on the officer. The first time re-entering Canada, my border agent made a point to tell us our implied status is now null since my husband left the country and thus has to keep a proof of landing that he must renew before the expiry and extend his status until he has his OWP. And that the next time he re-enters the country to make a point of saying he is on a visitor's status and wish to stay in Canada until a decision is made on his application for PR, even if he is applying through inland.
I have to say I have been so lucky coming and going, I was running a business back home even after we applied through inland so I've left for long periods(4 months and 5 months) twice while the application was in. Even before we submitted I travelled back and forth at least 4-5 times while we were married by myself. I'm always honest. I was only asked for a return ticket once and I was honest and said I was leaving for a trip again soon with a friend and wasn't sure of the date I was leaving. I just say I am here to visit my husband, and I'm staying for 6 months. I either make sure I'm gone by the 6 months or renew my visitors visa online. Some things that help, I make sure I look hot and presentable AND I pick a male officer if possible. After years of travelling and going through many airports, I always find that overall women in immigration seem to give me a harder time. :p

People are going crazy again on the Facebook page because CIC is issuing OWP to summer 2014 files and neglecting early 2014 files. Don't go there if you can't stand negativity :-[

So guys I ordered my gcms notes after my file was transferred to Etobicoke for further assessment after AIP. It says eligibility issue. In comments they have written that applicant came here on study permit but didn't study after coming here ( I came here on student visa and got married bk at home to my Canadian husband).

We filed our case 3 months after coming here and canceled my admission. Do u think it can b e a problem for us? Any advise or any solution to this problem? As they don't hv issue with our relationship.

If anybody has links to the posts where someone was denied entry with an inland app, I'd really appreciate seeing those.

I have read threads here from other members that have been issued WP or SP and stopped working or studying, but they still had a valid status for the duration of their respective permits (which doesn't seem fair, but I digress).

If you say that they don't have an issue with your relationship (which means you have to be a partner or spouse...which you are), I have no idea why the study permit issue would even be a factor in your qualifying for spousal sponsorship.

Hello guys

I am inland applicant and file is in process since sep 2013
And my open work permit will expire in 2 months.
I want to renew my work permit.
On what basis should I renew my work permit and how long it takes ? I just have my file number (AOR). Recently I submitted more documents as they asked to show proof of cohabitation.

Thanks Sophieee for your help☺☺☺

The fact is that I came here on study permit but never went to university. Rather I canceled my admission and filed my inland spousal. My not starting studies or never going to uni might be bothering them I suppose because they have written in comments that relationship seems genuine. Do u think this study thing might cause me further problems as the case is further transferred to Etobicoke for assessment after AIP.

Should I start study again.? How to address their concern
