Thank you ! , yes and it was a different one from my AIP letter , JE today

So husband's OWP was issued Jan.2/15 under pilot program. Called CIC and was told it was mailed out Jan.5/15 and could take up to 6 weeks to get to us. Checked the mail today and there it was! So yay! Hope people are ready, things are moving along again. Husband is still in shock and doesn't quite know what to do with his hands. ;D

Waiting for it to come in the mail.

Good to know at-least CIC is processing OWP.
Would CIC be processing OWP for 2014 Applicants.. I malied a week ago.. Or CIC is only processing for 2013 applicants.
Can someone share your ideas?

Hi,

Congrats for your OWP. Quick question. Does the new OWP mention something like "case 27" or a notion that you have applied for permanent residence? In Ontario, OHIP is given with a work permit with such notes.

Are only 2013 applicants first getting OWP or 2014 applicants too? ..

Hello,

What was the date your application was received?

thanks,

I think that everyone on here should be feeling in a pretty good mood (unless you got bad news from the CIC).

We've seen a couple DM's .... the OWP's seem to be flying out there due to the pilot program...

Maybe i'm just really pessimistic..but i cant help but think that once they've issued all the OWPs for people with AOR, then they'll feel no "urgency" to process AIPS..and the AIPs will just stretch out longer and longer.....but who knows...

Question... Once you have your OWP in hand and you have AOR but NO aip, can you get medical coverage in BC??

Are OWP only for 2013 or 2014 applicants also?

So far, i've only seen poilot program OWP's issued for 2013's who have yet to get AIP...

but it seems to be going fast..so maybe 2014 OWPs are around the corner.

yep. for some reason I have the same feelings about AIP. they re gong to forget about it totally. just giving away this OWP. so people can stop complaining....

Few people applied in 2014 got OWP issued already.

You are eligible for BC MSP as soon as CIC receives your application for PR (+ ~3 months waiting period).

Many of us had to fight tooth and nail to convince them that we do NOT have to have AIP, like so many of their staff `think'.
Unfortunately, those of us that succeeded are the minority.

How About Ontario? Would we be eligible for healthcare with OWP approval ? AOR filed in May 2014

no, i don't think it's possible on APPROVAL. I *believe* for ontario, you must have an employer listed on the permit, and possibly have to work a specific amount of hours before eligible. also, ontario has a 90 day wait period. i'm not sure how exactly that works with an OWP... hopefully others will confirm.
