If I understand well, two facebook group member were able to get a file number of their OWP application, which only means that the agent they were talking to was able to locate their application. It doesn't mean that their OWP is already issued and we can't know if they will get it sooner than others. That doesn't mean anything.

Congrats Frenchwapiti. So happy for you. Despite unclear answers from cic you got all your prayers answered today. Did you ask cic call center to send a message for you re your owp? Did you follow up again? Or did you just wait? Im asking cause today i called and the guy said that my owp has not been issued (full aip issued on dec 15) but told me that he just emailed them to issue one for me. I dont know if il believe him. But i hope, if thats the case, that it wont take long. How long do you think would that take to receive owp in the mail?

Thank you Shyla, i was exactly in the same situation as you. they forgot to issue my OWP, I called and they said that they send an email. I called again 2 weeks later and the call center agent clooked up my file and confirmed that an email had been sent. he sais that I should hear from them within 3 months!!! I called again 2 weeks later, the agent told me the same , the email had been sent, but there still was no answer, he suggested i wait a little more and check with the call center from time to time. I was quite disappointed and I did not call again as Christmas was coming and I did not excpect any good news during the holiday. That is why I really had the bifg surprise to get the OWP in may mailbox yesterday. i got my AIP letter dated nov 14th and the OWP letter dated dec 22th.

I can only suggest you to try to call again and check with the call center that the email has been sent and then just keep going and be patient, I think your letter will come in a few week. So instead of loosing time calling them, prepare your resume and get ready to seek a job. I cross my fingers for you and let us know when you get the OWP.

But it is SOOOOOO wrong that May 2014 applicants are getting OWPs when some August 2013ers don't have it yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ??? ??? ??? ???

Oh CIC....your idiocy and uselessness knows no bounds......................

Have they no idea what chronological means?!? it goes August 2013, Sept 2013, Oct 2013, Nov 2013, Dec 2013....THEN on to 2014.....And starting in JANUARY....*sigh*

Note: Please don't be upset by my comments if you are one of the lucky May 2014ers who got your OWP, as mentioned I am SUPER happy for you honestly, but it's just hard to see things like this happening for those who have been waiting so much longer. Hope you understand!

While it might not seem fair, it could be how CIC is implementing the new program.

They must expect to have OWP and AIP for those that applied prior to May 2014 SOONER, than it would take them to issue just OWP.

No, he has to go to a Service Canada office and apply for the SIN. They give you the number itself immediately, and you get an official card in the mail a few days later.

once you have an OWP you can get your SIN right away. You don't have to apply for a job.

Hello my waiting buddies,
today I went to my mailbox, like every day since 16months and 14days, and big surprise !!!!
3 brown enveloppes!!!
1. letter from CIC to tell me that my OWP is on its way!!!!
2. letter from BC health with my HEALTH CARD!!!!!!! valid from dec 1st. incredible!!!!
and
3. letter from CIC with my beautiful OWP!!!!!! valid until 2017

I am speechless, happy, and grateful!!!!!
So I must share this with all of you,
the letters from CIC were both stamped by Canada post on dec 22nd. probably they wanted to give me this as Christmas present. Thank you CIC and Canada post, I am very happy even though it came a little late, normally I should have received it at the same time as my AIP in November.
On my work permit the only restriction which made me laugh for hours :
not allowed to work in the sex related industry.... massage.....and escort....

my fellow I hope I could sheer you all up with this and make you laugh for a moment. Please keep your minds joyfull, the coming year is ours!!!!!

I wish you all a very happy start into the new year and thanks for all your helpful comments. I will put a candle and say lots of prayers for all of you.
I start to party right away today and after New Years Eve, I'll knock on every HR's door, I have nearly 17 months of work to recover.

once you have an OWP you can get your SIN right away. You don't have to apply for a job.

Yes i will call again next week, and days to come. I have done my resume and its just funny cause i started that last feb when i panicked as i thought I would get aip already haha. Then it got buried again. Anyway, i cant wait for the owp as i have an upcoming interview and i dont want to lose the opportunity by not having my very golden owp.
So my question is, for those latest applicants who got their owp, was it sent from vegreville or missisagua. I asked cause i read some owps being processed in missisaga and i thought mine is still being processed in veg.

I haven't chimed in here in a while. I just wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone! Hope everyone is able to enjoy the holidays as much as possible given the terrible year it's been for inland applicants/sponsors. I hope with this new Pilot Program that the new year will bring more attention to Inland Applicants and we will get lots of AIPS, and DMs to those of us that have been waiting as well. I'm going to try to stay positive over the next few weeks

on the envelope was the address from Vegreville, that was also where I had sent it. good luck for your interview i am sure you will do fine and the OWP will be in your mail in the coming weeks.

hi guys< i got a letter in d mail from cbsa asking me to go to vancouver for a processing hearing regarding me being out of status, and they will decide if i will remain in canada or if a removal order will be issued against me. i need help from you guys pls asap if anyone has been through this and what was asked during the interview. i'm a 2014 applicant my app was recieved march 4th. AND IM FREAKING OUT
