Congrat ACS. Yes, your husband is for sure going to receive the OWP if you have filed the application.

Yes, we did submit the Application for Rehabilitation with the For Info Only box checked. At the same time we submitted our PR. We sent a copy of this Application along WITH the PR application and a letter explaining the situation.

This is why Etobicoke sent CPC-M that email, saying they have the Application for Rehabilitation with the For Info Only box checked, and they are wondering if CPC-M would like the Application for Rehabilitation with the For Info Only box checked forwarded to them in Mississauga, or if CPC-M will transfer our file to Etobicoke.

I am hoping since Etobicoke offered CPC-M that option, it must mean that it doesn't HAVE to go there, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Do you know Ponga? Since I got my email that I am approved as a Sponsor, does that mean that he is for sure going to get his OWP??

Well, since criminal and medical checks are supposed to be AFTER the applicant has an eligible sponsor and has a verified relationship with the sponsor (AIP), he should receive the OWP.

It is a huge risk. If you get an officer who is a jerk he can deny you entry and there is nothing you can do about it

To those that have recently gotten their OWP, how long is it good for? Is it true that it depends on your passport expiry date?

My passport is expiring in about a year, and i don't have my aip yet, obviously... I would hate to get my OWP next year just to find out that it's only good for less than a year lol.. Especially with all of cic's uncertainties, who knows when my dm will come.

SO when should I send Cic my new passport info? It won't affect my current application negatively in any way right?

well, if you travel to US and return to Canada with Work permit, you should be fine...

My husband is not from a Visa exempt Country (Costa Rica), so he would first need to apply for a Visa to go to the US. And as OWP or not, I think as soon as he would leave Canada he would loose his implied status, no?!?
