She told me she doesn’t have the physical paper file there with her since she is in the call center so she is unable to provide me with any updates.

Wow………… By that time I sat on hold so long, I was already back at work, so I couldn’t be bothered to argue with her….*sigh*

Still waiting for my OWP in the snail mail. I don't know how long it will take for the mail to arrived. They send it October 30 Thursday. Hay I'm excited to work and apply for a new SIN

I think you can apply for a job while waiting for your SIN and Work Permit. Just let the Human resources know that it's on it's way. That's my plan as well, if I get the AIP in the email, I will start looking for a job while waiting for my SIN and New Work Permit.

I think you can apply for a job while waiting for your SIN and Work Permit. Just let the Human resources know that it's on it's way. That's my plan as well, if I get the AIP in the email, I will start looking for a job while waiting for my SIN and New Work Permit.

They mailed my OWP last Friday (Oct 31) so it will arrive probably after yours, Jayshe !

And you can definately apply for a job !! you just have to inform the employer that you are waiting for your permit that will come soon !!
I have been participating in recruitment processes since the beginning of this year and I got a job in July !! They have been waiting for me since then and I will start in 1.5 week !!!!!!! SUPER HAPPY !!!!!!!!!

So you got your drivers license with a visitor visa? I went to two registry offices today in Alberta and I've been told that I can't get my Alberta drivers license as a visitor , doesn't matter how much proof I have that I've lived here for 19 months now!! Have to wait till I'll get my work permit, so my aip!

To be honest, one place said absolutely not until I had AIP. The next place said it was fine as long as I had proof that my application was in process, that was good enough. So I brought in a screenshot of the CIC page that had my information saying that they had received my application.

I think it's really hit or miss for getting it. It was for getting healthcare too. It's weird.

I always thought that is was based upon the expiry date of your passport.
