She seems to be taking the bullet regardless so might as well give her a sense of calm about it. Last thing she wants is worrying about her re-entry during the wedding celebration.
It is a good point regarding "implied status" you made. I can be wrong in my interpretation here. Since her OWP is still in process, wouldn't in theory still applies to her new visa status once that runs out?
