Don't worry, they actually go by what date it was received anyway. AOR is just when they notified you officially that they have it. So you're still in there with the August applicants.

Hmm. So I got an email saying that they have received our application on August 6 and the email is dated Sept. 4. Which one is AOR? On the CIC website all I see is 1 item which says application received Aug 6.

Just a bit confused here.

August 6 is your AOR date, because that's the date that CIC is telling you that they received your application. The date in the AOR email is just that...the date that they are informing you.

This is why the CIC website says "We are currently processing applications received on [date]".

A final decision concerning the granting of permanent residence status will be made at that time. If permanent residence is granted, the name that will appear on the confirmation of permanent resident document is your name as it appears on your passport or identity documents.

No I have not, we called last week and they said we are still in a normal processing, which totally crap. The normal time is 6-8 weeks. Still patiently waiting, we are just waiting to finish voting here in Ontario to write our MP.
