The work permit document itself doesn't authorize re-entry. So if you leave the country you still run the risk of being denied at border. That being said you are from a visa exempt country and already have AIP. There is something in the CBSA manuals that say if a person has AIP and there are no issues such as previous criminal history the border agent should admit the person. It depends how bad you need to go the UK. There's always a chance something can go wrong at the border.
Thanks

Woohoo!!!!!!! :)

My wife got her DM email today! It's party time!
We expect that landing interview will be in the next 3-4 weeks; this is an educated guess based on the spreadsheet although limited data is available on Windsor office.
Good luck to everybody!
I landed Windsor. Took them about 10 days to send my letter, landed within 3 weeks of DM.

Yes! I couldn't remember if it was two years or three, I was just so friggin happy. :) But yes, it was 3 years. Was your officer a younger woman with short dark hair? Yes, she told us that citizenship rules were changing and that when the time came for us to apply for citizenship, the new rules would have already been in effect so she couldn't council us on it. It's this odd looking room, I was hoping to get online and leave a message for you about it so that you wouldn't be confused when you got there, but I had to go to work and didn't have a chance. Did she mention getting a permanent SIN number to you? We had a problem as my husband's temporary SIN expired and so he went to the Service Canada in the Halifax Shopping Center and they told him that he needed to wait for his PR card. Which is now ridiculous as we have to file taxes very soon... there's no way we can wait for his PR card to get a permanent SIN. Was just wondering what she said to you about it?

Congrats to you and your other half, Spikey! :)

Such a great day! Thank you for the congrats everyone!
Indeed a great day :D
My confirmation of permanent residence states that we have to live together for the next 2 years. Not 3?! Anyway it doesnt matter right now ,or will ever as Im planning on being with my partner for the rest of our lives. *end of corny sentence* :p

Yes,she said we or rather I gotta go to Service Canada with my confirmation of permanent residence and my stamped passport and they will then issue your permanent SIN. She did not say that we need the PR Card for it. Only COPR and stamped passport.

Hi @Spikey92 and congrats on your landing :) by reading your post i assume that they state that "you should live together for the next two years" cuz the Condition 51 applies to you. Those 2 years have nothing to do with the 3 years of sponsor's responsability. Let's say, in order to keep your pr, you HAVE to live with your partner for 2 years, but if then you decide to leave, you'll keep your pr but she'll still be responsable for you financilly for one year more.

Seniors, correct me if im wrong?

Like you said... it doesnt matter! we are all trying to be forever with our hubbys and wifeys :D Good luck and God bless your brand new canadian life!

Hi guys!
I just came accross this case and Im freaking out again:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/why-my-pr-interview-was-canceled-t189259.0.html
This person had his landing interview CANCEL. He got DM and a landing letter to land on march 6th at Montreal's office but got a phonecall on march 5th to CANCEL it. He asked why, they said "further investigation"
can this REALLY happen? WHY? Arent offices NOT SUPPOSE to proccess? (at least not inland sponsorship?) What could have go wrong?
Im waiting for landing letter from Montreal, and even tough I know it takes some time to get it... I just shock by reading this post..
COMMENTS?

good luck and God bless
