Hey all :D
I have just lands at the Scarborough office. There were a lot of people here today but the interview itself went very fast.
Thank you all for you amazing support. I feel so relived.
As much as the process was stressful, it thought me that all the other issues that people normally stress out about are nothing compared to this immigration process!
I hope you all get your good news as soon as possible. And don't forget, this too shall pass ! ;D

Congrats Rita! That is great news!!! :)

Hope you guys have a celebratory dinner tonight! :)

I wasn't aware that being married would eliminate the condition 51.

The OP should ask his friend to look at her CoPR and see if it has any conditions listed.
Hi ponga ..is condition 51 gonna effect those staying together with their spouse while inland application in Canada before they get Canada pr ?? i mean CIC count 2 year after issuing Canada PR to some one or they just count 2 year living together even before getting Canada PR??what u think ?because many people talking about this topic but no one know very clearly ... 8)

Hope your PR Card comes in soon! :)

I'm not sure, but I believe that the couple would have to have been together for two years on the date that their application was received by CIC (Their `lock-in date'). The time that we are waiting for the PR process is NOT counted towards the 2 year requirement, but...maybe someone that actually knows can comment further.

This is from the CIC website

The new regulations apply to spouses or partners in a relationship of two years or less and who have no children in common with their sponsor at the time they submit their sponsorship application. The spouse or partner must live in a legitimate relationship with their sponsor for two years from the day on which they receive their permanent resident status in Canada. The status of the sponsored spouse or partner may be revoked if they do not remain in the relationship.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2012/2012-10-26.asp

So the two year clock starts from the day you receive PR if you get conditional permanent residence.

True, but the two year requirement is based on the relationship when CIC receives the application. If a couple has been together for 23 months when they apply, they will need to continue cohabitation for 24 months after the applicant has their PR status.

Thank you, you are next :P

It's from the date you become a permanent resident and is subject to a number of qualifications (e.g., children, abuse, death of the sponsor) in which the condition is also lifted.
