Same here! I was trying not to pay attention too closely for a while now, just because I thought it would be so long before they got to June...but now that it's so close and they're working so fast, I've become a bit obsessive checking my email and the forums here!

So glad you guys are so upbeat and positive, I really wish I had found this forum earlier while I was so down about the process. :)

you are right Daizey, to know you are not the onlyone in this long waiting process is already relieve.

i have always worked and now I sit here and have no other aim than waiting for CIC news to tell me that I am a good person and may live in my husband's country with him and once approved find a job.... and then explain the big whole in my resume......
employer asks: and what have you done over the last 12 month (in worst cqse even more)
me answering: checked my email thousand times a day, expected and wished that the time flies by, waiting for my OWP,AIP,DM,PR.....

well that is a courageous decision to leave your country and start a new live in a foreign country, and so far I have met the Canadians really welcoming and friendly, always willing to help me to integrate. I hope my futur employeur wil be like this also.

anyhow, today is a joyful day because we had amazing sunshine in BC and quite a few excellent news in this forum!!!!

And my final question for the day....

My partner's (applicant) passport is going to expire in early May, and his OWP will expire on the same day as it's only valid with that passport. He got DM on Feb 5 but we are awaiting a landing date in Vancouver which could be a few months.

He'll have to send off for a new passport and then forward the details of that one along to the CIC so they can issue him a new OWP, but.....the sticky situation is that he'll have to send his current passport with the application for the new one, back to England for processing. Their website says it will be at least 4 weeks to process once receieved, plus time to send it back to Canada. The consulate office in Vancouver doesn't process passports anymore, and they said the Ottawa office only does for emergency travel.

So...he's found himself in a bit of a dilemma - if he sends it now but it's not back by the time he lands will he be screwed....? But alternatively if he waits to send it in his OWP could expire/lapse before the new passport comes back and he updates hos passport info with CIC.

Any ideas what to do?!

Yikes! On the DM letter it states passports must be valid for the duration of your stay in Canada, so he definitely wants to get a new one I would say. If I were you I would send it expedited now. Worse case scenario they would contact you with a landing date before it is returned but you could just reschedule it. It would be annoying, but not too bad. I'm Vancouver too... It's sounding like it might be a long wait :(

You might consider trying to get the Ottawa office to do it, explain your situation. You never know!

Anyone else have any ideas?

Oh well, just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing is lost. But I guess I am not going to be receiving anything before you do! Since mine is mailed later, and I am in Winnipeg. So, let's keep waiting. :) And keep hoping! Singapore post isn't that bad with mail and all, so.... It is coming!!!! Probably delayed with Chinese New Year!

I renewed my British passport just before xmas, took around 10 days. They are quicker around this time of year as less people are applying.

Lol! You must be coming up soooon! They're rolling in June now!

Your AIP set the ball rolling! When I saw your post, I started getting antsy and with June applicants continuing to get news these past couple of days, I have been glued to my phone...refreshing this page, my email, my partner's email, the CIC website...Seriously, I'm obsessed! Maybe I should stop for today...I suppose the CIC agents deserve a few hours of sleep...but they better be back at it bright and early! ;)

In Process: July 15th

Congrats for everyone received good news and good luck for the rest who are waiting and best of wishes for those didnt mail their APS yet like myself ;D
I have some news which I quoted from another thread. I am not sure if you already know it but no harm to post anyway.
Some of us want to mail any updates ASAP. However mailing documents can take up sometimes.
So what could be done is faxing your documents to them. Someone will ask but for whom I should fax the documents? the answers are below :)

What you need to do is send the medical confirmation to them. You can send it by fax by doing this:

On the AIP you recieved, at the bottom of the second page, you will see something similar to this:

vp9nja.jpg

The picture is from my AIP, so it shows the officers' initials which is dealing with my case.

To send a fax to CPC Vegreville, you need the officers initials and the sponsored persons UCI Number. (If you don't include this information, they will throw the fax in the trash).

On the top of every page you send, you have to write, For the attention of MJK/I, UCI Number .............., Do that for every page you send! (Do as I have shown here but put the officers' initials shown on your AIP).

I would also include a cover page, just explaining that you are sending the confirmation for the medical results. Make sure you write the above info on the cover page also. I would also put a contact phone number on the cover page, just in-case.

Finally send it to fax number - 17806032695 (CPC Vegreville).

hi, I just sent my app last week...resubmit due to some silly mistakes..
Today my employer told me how they want keep me and promised to apply LMO for me while im waiting for my AIP. Can anyone tell me if i need to do anything to avoid any negative consequence for not reporting to CIC ?

THANK YOU !
