Hi guys,
I went to pick up my mail today at the post office (general delivery). and there was a letter from CIC

it is my appointment for my landing interview at Etobicoke on Feb 12th....
The letter is dated January 21st I got DM January 9th so it has been pretty fast.

Can't wait I am so excited.

Guri could you update my details on the spreadsheet.

Hello friends, my wife received the OWP in the mail today. We received the AIP ,DM and OWP the 22th of january and they posted it right away. It took only 5 days to arrived here in Quebec city. Keep the patience Cirene it will come !!!!!

OMG I GOT AIP!!!! YIPPIE YAY =D I am actually shaking Im so excited, finally!

It also says my OWP is in the mail. Although I failed to send the correct police check, darn. (I triple checked everything and still missed something) I have been asked to send another form its called Consent to disclosure of information (NZ) form. Then CIC will work with the appropriate authorities to obtain the required criminal history on your behalf. - Feels to easy compared to the months I waited for the apparently invalid police check I sent with my application. Does anyone know how long this step takes?

Congrats! My wife is also from NZ and I can't remember if we got the right form too! NZ doesn't have the exact thing call police clearance but a letter from Ministry of Justice saying you are free of any charges. Along with that form, we also submitted Appendix A (Request for Police Certificates/Clearances and Authorization for Release of Information) at the same time. Hope this step won't take too long and good luck!

It's great to hear so much good news in such a short time. Congrats to everyone who got AIP's.
I wanted to ask something in regards to the criminal record check for Canada. Do you need to submit anything to CIC so they can do a criminal background check on you or can they do it without any consent from me. The reason I ask is because I have not sent the background check from Canada and I wonder how it would effect DM right after AIP. Can someone please advise?

Ok great thank you, yes I sent the one from the ministry of justice but I didn't know about the clearance so I need to get that sent away.

Also looks like when I changed my address on ECAS and online. It change the address under my name but not my partners. So hopefully my OWP will arrive to the right address and not our old one. Will be another fun morning tomorrow waiting for CIC to pick up the phone.

My husband is holding post grad work permit. Does the implied status also mean he is legal to work? I didn't send an OWP application. If I prepare the OWP application now . Will work?

Unfortunately a post grad work permit is not extendable so you cannot get implied status. So you will have to wait for stage 1 approval.
