Guys, I just received AIP!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Hubby got a call from our lawyer just now ;D

It says:
"In order to continue processing your application in Canada further information is required. You
must complete/submit the following information to the Case Processing Centre:
Immigration legislation requires that all applicants for permanent residence and their family
members if applicable complete medical examinations. The required medical forms and
instructions have been sent to the email address provided on your application form.
The information requested above must be received at this office by 21July2014."

Does that mean I need to redo my meds?? I only did them in March !!!
I am so excited I can barely type!!!!

Questions:

For those of you who received OWP, what are the conditions on the permit? How long is it good for?

Thanks in advance!

Our AIP didn't mention anything about medical forms....it just said the next step would be completely the medical and other security background checks....we received AIP Nov 13th we haven't received anything since....so I took it upon ourselves and made an appointment for this Thursday (23rd) for hub's med exam. Am I wrong? Should I be waiting till they tell us to go?? Is there forms I should be bringing???? ACK!! Worried now!

Edited to say: We received our letters via mail not email.

Hockeyfan have you received your work permit yet? Still waiting and can't get ahold of our old landlord where it goes to. Starting to worry :o

Nope not yet! You got AIP before me too, so keep contacting your old landlord and hope you get it soon.

Good luck,

Good Afternoon Evryone!

So I called CIC last week about my application (sent on Nov 14th/received with signature verification on Nov15).
Apparently the lady thought i had to "just wait until 11 months had past and then call and see if they received it" she said that CIC does not send receival information AT ALL.

She is crazy (again before during my father sponsoring me they lost the whole application so this time i am making extremely sure they have it). I told her about AOR and she said she didnt know....geez this people seriously dont know anything.
Anyways, after putting me on hold several times and talking with different supervisor she said that I was right and that since two months had passed since I sent my application and they had nothing to show for it but I did from my canada post receipt. She said they would do an investigation (woohoo-i am extremly happy as this is the first time they do something).

Since I am a psycho fro making sure things are done i called today.
Sadly, no updates but CIC has sent the investigation to CPC VEGREVILLE to see where this Karina Lebu (who sign the recept) put my application. She said to call next week again and that they would send me an email or give me a call. Verfied my info and said that they will figure it out. She was sooooo nice.

I feel a bit relived. I hope they didnt ose it (I mean what are the chances of them losing your application and then the chances of it happening twice to the same person!!)

Anyways wanted to let you guys know.

Have a nice day and all the AIP's keep on coming!!

Juz called cic to make sure they received my pcc .
The agent was so nice.he asked for all the details from my side to confirm and he put me on hold to check, then he said ur Appln is in stage1 process so once the stage 1 is done they will update it.happy to hear a pleasant voice from cic saying ur Appln is already in the first stage processing.very nervous

Hi people, just a heads up.
So last week was just insane and I ended up (and my wife too) reaching the weekend worn out, we were able to collect her 2 divorce certificates CIC requested, the lady working at the Alberta Court Archives was very surprised they would request those 2 as my wife wouldn't be able to get married again if she wouldn't present them when obtaining new wedding licenses for getting married again, it's really hard to try to explain the CIC intricacies to people out of this nightmare, not even mentioning family...
I was also able to go and do the fingerprints and now RCMP will send them to us and we have to send it to CIC, it takes 10 to 12 business days.
I was also able to book new medicals to February 11TH.
Friday evening we post my wife's divorce certificates and her bankruptcy discharge (that we sent but they lost) and it was received by CIC this morning.
We can only wait now, another 600 dollars later... this is uncharted territory, I wonder when they will start working on our process again, I don't know anyone in our situation, does anyone here know when they access applications again after asking for more documents?
We are really down now and sometimes I just feel like grabbing my wife and take her to Portugal, at least there I know what to count with...
Regardless, congratulations to all of you that received your AIP, DM or OWP, stay strong and God bless you.
