Why is the Processing times such a long wait still for In-Land applications..

I am about to submit my In-Land Application with a OWP but I find out that they are 1 YEAR behind looking at the applications.

So If I send it off now its going to take 1 year before its even picked up and looked at...Then I have to wait 11 months after that for the first stage of processing then another 8 Months of Stage 2...

This is completely ridiculous.

How the hell are you all managing without working.... I just don't understand it.

So it looks likes I will have to wait 2 years before I even see my Work permit?? WTF
While Inland applications are being processed at a snail's pace, I don't think it's quite as long as you think.

If you look at the 2013 spreadsheet, you'll find that most people have AIP ~ 11 months, not 12 months + 11 months, even with the backlog.

Once they finally pick up your file, the only thing that they have to do is approve your sponsor (which probably takes all of about 20 minutes) and then you receive AIP.

AOR should be about 30 days. AIP should be ~11 months.

To be honest, with the prolonged strike it had for past year, who the h**l knows when the milestones will occur really. AOP could be 1 month according to 2013, 3 months for 2012. Maybe 11 months for AIP and on top of it another 8-10 months for 2nd stage. Will the timeline drop in the new year, I can't say. It is anyone's guess now.

To be honest with you, if I am in your shoes, I would seriously consider applying outland if I am in a hurry to land sooner than inland applicants.

And...some recent Inland applicants have actually received AIP and DM (Decision Made) at the same time, basically completing the entire process in ~12 months. No idea why they were blessed, but most likely was because of a very clean, straightforward application package with no red flags.

So I finally received the GCMS forms I requested on our file and it really doesn't make sense. There are no notes... it looks like they haven't even touched our file besides looking for the required documents. Would it make sense for them to already have called us in for an interview or to request further documentation if either were necessary?

Or CIC is under pressure to push through the applications issuing AIP/DM same time due to the strike prolonging the process.

Did you look at the last couple of pages usually, that's where they write notes. I also applied last month (Nov.14) haven't received mine yet.
Did you include consent form for spouse? When did you apply?

~1 month for AOR (January 2014)
~11 months for AIP (November 2014)
~19 months for PR (July 2015)

Based on the current time frames.

Outland (London) is ~1 month for Sponsor Approval (January 2014) and then ~8 months for PR (August 2014).

I applied a few days after you mentioned applying for your notes. I scrolled down and it says "Notes:0. 0 Notes." I did not include a consent form from my spouse though it looks like they are only giving me information on my sponsorship application. I guess this means I should have sent a consent form. I'm just not sure what this means... I'm hoping it means they see no reason for an interview as I feel they would have contacted me already if there was a need for one...

Ugh. Confused.

I'm highly convinced they would have called you for an interview a long time ago, if they felt they needed more information.

Hey I am wondering whether anyone could share their experience in having their fingerprints taken for their application.

We went to Canadian Fingerprinting Services and had them taken. A few days later the RCMP letter arrived with her pic, the prints and stating there was no record....

Are we supposed to mail this along to CIC? Is there a form it needs to be submitted along with or should we just send as is?

Thank you for sharing!

Were you instructed by CIC to have an RCMP letter???

Inland applications require fingerprints be sent to the home country of the applicant (or each country where s/he has lived for 6 months or more since age 18).
I was under the impression that Canadian police checks were NOT required unless requested.

If, for example, your partner/spouse lived in the US, the fingerprints would need to be mailed to the FBI in West Virginia for them to process. The current processing time is about 10 weeks.

Hey guys,

I just got my landing letter in my mailbox, I land on Jan, 22 2014 in Calgary. It's funny because I still haven't gotten my OWP which was sent on 14th Nov to my old address and no one lives there any more so I called CIC to explain the situation to them and I was told to call back on the 27th of this month for a new OWP to be sent to my new address. At least am happy my landing letter was sent to my new address. Guys when updating your address make sure you call CIC at least 4 times lol to make sure the address has been updated. In my case I updated my address on-line in Feb and I thought it was okay until back in the November when I didn't get my OWP I called cic and I was told the address was not updated in their system so I was screwed but am happy its almost coming to an end

You can certainly send it along to CIC, but unless they asked for it, you wasted your money - that's why the directions say you must submit a PCC for every country except Canada in which the applicant has lived for six months since the age of 18. CIC gets the information directly from RCMP normally. They only need fingerprint based records when there is a partial match for the biographical data.

If they asked for it, they normally provide you with directions on how to submit it to them.
