CONGRATS CANUSA!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU ON BOTH ACCOUNTS!

So on this end I plan to send more information (unrequested information) to CIC. I spent a week and a half organizing it and now I'm nervous to send it. I mean... I don't think there's much to be nervous about, but still. :/

I honestly don't think you need too much more evidence - I could be wrong but if they were unsure about your relationship/marriage then I'm sure they would have asked you earlier on. But again it doesn't hurt sending more! Good luck

We never got an email approving OWP, so I'm kinda worried about that. Hopefully one comes in the mail even though nothing was mentioned about it from CIC.

I just got AIP and DM!!!! Both emails sent to the Sponsor.

Doesn't say anything about OWP being approved, but I'll be patient for that.

For those 2013's that have gotten AIP/DM did the principal applicant get any emails?

Engaged and AIP/DM in a 5 days span. WOW I'm lucky.

At least this is proof to the rest of us that they are working.

We got AIP on Nov. 19th but the only e-mail received was to me (Sponsor) saying that I was approved as the sponsor. We were worried too because I kept reading about people getting AIP and then OWP approval e-mailed shortly after. The actual OWP arrived in the snail mail 6 days later. So don't fret -but if you want peace of mind, give CIC a call to confirm that it's on its way. CONGRATULATIONS! 8)

She will be on implied status when it expires, that means she can still work with same conditions in her current work permit until she receives her new Open Work Permit. That's the best thing to do, apply OWP with the application.

I agree 100%. I'm not whining about them getting priority, as I strongly believe they need the most help.

What I'm saying is that I feel like CIC isn't allocating their resources and workers effectively.

While I do agree with that, I also understand that the CIC is a business, whose main interest lies in economic operation. I also wish this would be over soon and that CIC would just put their resources to good use. But I think that all this complaining will just make us more miserable and sad, which doesn't do us a favour. We should stay positive and expect the least but hope for the best.

Also, Canusa's case proves that they are still working on applications . It may just be a little slower. Keep your heads high, it will be over soon.

Yes, she can still stay in Canada even If her work permit expires but she cannot work without new work for a new employer. If she wants to work for a different employer, she must acquire a new work permit. Or she can wait for the OPen Work Permit when your sponsorship application is approved.

Hi Guys;

So I need some assistance please. After we got our AIP/DM on Oct 21st 2013. we received a letter from CIC requesting my husbands FBI Cert from the states. We sent in all the required docs to FBI in the US and we just found out today after over a month that they are working on Oct 18 files as of right now. We only have until January 21st to have his FBI Cert submitted but looking at the time frame I don't think we will receive it in time to send his Cert to CIC before January 21st. and plus I'm due in January with our baby so looking at all these I don't know what to do... Can anyone of you sweet people advise us on anything what we should do?

Should I or Can I write a letter to CIC asking to extend our time for the FBI Cert since we don't even have it yet.. Will that not cause more delay to his PR app... ??? I'm so confused :-\

please help.
