Thats great Zippy, I remember it used to take a lot longer to receive that. Im happy people are getting faster service these days. Can you tell me when your app was received so I can add you to the spreadsheet?

Yeah, sure! It was recieved on 11th. Feb.

Thanks!

Hi hi,

i was just looking at the spreadsheet. There is the column that says "STAGE 1 - IN PROCESS", what is this suppose to mean? How do we know if they are processing the application?

Thanks a lot! :)

Hey All,

Just sent in my inland application yesterday! I am tracking it by mail and it should arrive tomorrow. One thing I forgot to add to my application is a note saying not to approve my OWP until my spouse is AIP to sponsor me. Once they give me an AOR and a case number should I send a note by express mail saying not to approve me for an OWP until stage 1 is passed? Or is it too late and they will deny the OWP application because I did not specify properly :(. Let me know if anyone knows!!!

Thanks,

Did you send the open work permit application with your spousal sponsorship (same envelope) ? If you did then you have nothing to worry about, They will process your open work permit when you get Approval in Principle which is in 6 months.

TuesdayC, it is my understanding through my experience that when you get your AOR, CIC also Starts processing your Sponsor application. If you login to your ecas it will say under sponsor application "in process" and the date they started processing it. I'm just creating the spreadsheet from my own experience so if there is any conflict with what others are experiencing please let me know. I will be making some updates to the spread sheet tonight :)

Yes, it's all in the same envelope. Are you sure?

I was reading in another thread, that is a sticky started by Leon, that you need to write a letter or a note saying not to approve the OWP until Stage 1 is complete.

Thanks!

I am 100% sure as I did the same , sent open work permit application without putting a note. They know you want the open work permit processed after AIP if its with the same envelope. I got the open work permit 5 days after I get the AIP email. Sometimes reading too much information on the forum will give you unnecessary worries.

^^ Thanks, bro montana! Makes me feel a lot better :)

Icic. Alright, still waiting for that to come... Do they mail it or is it by email? I have a previous UCI number, so, will they still email me a new one?

Thanks!! The waiting process is definitely better than the form filling process, but nonetheless, still as daunting! LOL!

Yaaay... just got our AOR by email today!! ;D

Application was received on the 15th of Feb (as per fedex tracking info) and AOR today (March 6th). so 19 days...

Now we have a file number so we are going to send in an application for the OWP.

Well, they have definitely changed something!

Ours took from July to October last year!

Four months to two and a half weeks!

C'mon 2nd stage speed increase!!!

:D

Hi guys! Just got my AOR today! My application was receive on Feb. 21, 2013 that is 13days after they got my application. I just need to send them a newly completed Schedule A Background declaration form. Otherwise I think everything in my application was fine. Goodluck to all of us.

Its so nice to know that the processing time is now quicker.

I made a few updates :)

Hello... can I also be added to the spreadsheet? My submitted the application on Jan 4, 2013, and received the AOR on January 28, stating that they had received the documents on January 7th, 2013. I´m applying inland, my husband is with me.

Do you know if anyone has received "application in process" updates yet for 2013 applications? I suppose we are all in the same stage right now? (AORs).

Thanks!
just curious. you mentioned you got AOR on Jan 28 and March 3?
