Hi everyone, so I called CIC and they told me they will be posting on their website that the wait is now to 12 months and that they are working on July 28, 2013 applications. Just a heads up for everyone. I'm July 31st and the agent just said they are working on my file but no updates to give me. He said call back in two weeks if you haven't heard anything.

Anyway, just thought to share....

Lol...yup!! You are 100% right.....and I am watching for yours too.....I am fully expecting ours to take a bit longer cuz of some issues....unless they use common sense and process ours without taking longer for our little red flags.....

But at least seeing theirs and yours means it's that much closer...lol

Thanks for the heads up! I pretty much figured this would be the case, but I still can't help but be kind of sad at the slow progress. Ugh, it needs to hurry...I haven't worked for 2 years now and I'm going bonkers!

Oh men just one day ahead of mines, its crazy just waiting a week for such a little jump if thats the case! Does anyone know if applications are received at the office on weekends at CIC or anyone here app was received on a Saturday or Sunday. I asked this because last year July 29th was a Monday I was thinking it would update from 26th straight to 29th!

I don't think they receive applications on weekends so they probably aren't completely accurate when they update the website. It still hasn't even been updated yet so who knows if it even will! I'm going crazy here knowing any day we could MAYBE hear knews... but then again maybe not ???

Yeah, it's funny that the agent told kismetfatum that they are working on applications received on July 28th because July 28th last year was Sunday. So I am guessing it's another "lie" from CIC call agents or their system is completely disorganized.

My guess is that they are still working on July 26, they said 28 to pretend they had 2 days progress that did not really existed, being 27 and 28 a weekend last year... so 29 should be the next day to work on. Let's hope they get to their senses and start processing August like crazy... I want my life back, I'm sure everyone is tired of having life on CIC's hands for 12 months already.

It says on their website if it's been longer than the stated times to call them. But why because they've yet to tell me something like they are looking into it.

I"m thinking maybe..just maybe... they shifted 90% of their resources to processing summer visa applications and working holiday visas because there is a lot of money to be made there during summer months

May June July ..

Maybe... on August 1st, they'll have finished the bulk of summer visa applications and they'll shift the man power back to processing inland applications. Then by September they'll be ripping through the apps way faster like before the file move from Vegriville to Mississauga.

Thanks all, i really appreciate. Am sending my inland apps soonest, still waiting for pcc from home, i have about 50 copies of engagement pics, 50 copies of traditional/customary pics, 50 Pics of white wedding pics and 50 pics of reception pics, am i ok with this as part of the proof or need to add more pics.

Are you going to send 200 photos to CIC?! I don't know about everybody else, but I sent just a few from the same event. And you should focus in proof that are not pictures as well.

Thanks Brazilian Canadian, Can you pls give more examples on proof that are not pictures. we are legally married here in Calgary and am on postgrad work permit still valid till 2016.

I agree with Brazilian. You don't need to send all 200 pictures. Just select pictures from different places, different timeline and also try to include pictures with friends and families.
Other proofs would be marriage certificate or license, joint account bank statement, joint credit card statement, apartment lease agreement, letters from friends and families, any kind of utility bills under both of your name and travel reservations.
