We got AIP today! going to set up the medical for my man ASAP. We are very happy and excited! And now that we can get his OWP things will start to feel a little normal again!

Congrats its a good news, my application is recevied by CIC 21-05-2013 and my AOR 30-05-2013, im not US but i'm french, CIC has started to work on my file in the 29-05-2013.

Jhonny P i am also facing same problem ..i try to check my application status with uci and file number also but its keep saying no records found ..I VERY UPSET NOW ..my file received by cpc veg Aug,02/2013...i got AOR on Aug,22/2013..

QUESTION!

For those that put in a OWP permit AFTER AIP was received.....or for anyone else that might know.....will a letter or something be sent stating the OWP application was approved and then the OWP will be mailed.....or will the OWP just be mailed and that's that??????we are going stir crazy waiting....OWP sent Dec 27th, but AIP was received back in November.

Hi there it should be emailed to you that its been approved and you'll be receiving the hard copy of your work permit in the mail between 4-5 days depending on your location.

Alright after a huge back and forth with the CIC call center I now know they did receive my medicals,just hadnt added it to my main application yet. They will do so now and said I should call back in 30 days.

Also , I asked about my work permit because in the email it said I have met the requirements to apply for PR and that I may now apply for a work permit.

I sent my OWP application together with my PR applications.
Dont they usually issue AIP and the work permit in the same email/same day ?

The agent in the call center said they are still working on my work permit and I should expect it within the next 2-3 weeks? What? I was so happy I could finally work again but now I gotta wait almost another entire month??? Is this normal???

Ecas is where you check your pr application online. You can do so if you received your 8 digit UCI number via this link: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas


and you probably will only see "application received" and will stay that way for many, many months until you get AIP and decision made, it will explain a little if you check it out.

I tried it and it is only saying 'application received', you are right, I assume I must be patient for several more month.
I cross my fingers for you. hoping the situation evolves soon and in a positive way.

yes they will send it to your e-mail address if you provide the e-mail to them.

Thanks for the congrats everyone! I actually was looking at the google doc wrong and read the date for the person below us rather than ours I can't believe I actually forgot the date we actually sent it in. We did apply on May 15th and got AOR 22nd. So hopefully people after is will get theirs asap! I can't believe we got it this early! I agree, surreal.

I need your advice!

I didn't send my medical upfront, but I scheduled one on February 3rd. I sent my application on June 14th (AOR June 24th). Do you think I'm better off waiting to do the medical until after AIP...considering that May applicants have started getting news? Or do you think it's 'safe' to do it on the 3rd.

Any input will be much appreciated...I'm a worrier!
