GUYS,

Hubby just got this email.

I know this is OWP, but I never received an email. Does this mean DM as well as OWP? I'm so confused... We sent a full package and paid all the fees.

congratulation Mrs-Canuck!!! this is awesome news. You must be so excited. youpie 2014 is the lucky number.

CONGRATZ TO MRS. CANUCK!!

so people were saying that what you posted was AIP.
My question is: What does the DM email look like? and, is it sent to the applicant or sponsor?

thanks

This is what it will say, and it will be send was a PDF directed to the sponsored spouse

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law
partner in Canada class.
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident
status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.
We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The
Canada Immigration Centre in ETOBICOKE (or your location) will contact you concerning your permanent
resident status.
Please note: At the time of your appointment, you and your family members, if any, will
be required to present the original identification document(s) to the Canada Immigration
Centre. A final decision concerning the granting of permanent residence status will be
made at that time. If permanent residence is granted, the name that will appear on the
confirmation of permanent resident document is your name as it appears on your
passport or identity documents.

Congrats to everyone who got AIP+DM this week. So happy to see some movement.

You ARE correct that, in your example, you could have applied for common-law sponsorship on 1/4/2013, but THAT is also the date that you would show on the form that asks when you entered into your common-law relationship.

Dammit I think i just made a mistake in my app then cause we put the date 1/3/13 as the date we entered our common law relationship cause we moved in together on 1/3/12 when i should of wrote down 1/4/13 although i did send them 2 x rental leases. 1 for 1/3/12 to 1/3/13 then 1 for 1/3/13 to 1/3/14 cause we resigned to stay another year in our place on 1/3/13. I hope we haven't made the same mistake as minime# hopefully cic can work out what we mean on that question.

I guess we'll have to wait & see when they start processing July apps

Is it weird that my medical expired in early January and CIC didn't tell me I need to get them re-done?

PS - haven't got my OWP yet :(

Congrats to everyone getting good news!

No. Those don't require a study permit. The point of that clause is so you know it's not a study permit.

Hi Computergeek, I've been scouring past messages looking for information you posted about schooling. Are there schools that accept DM and can avoid study permit and paying International fees? (We are in the lower mainland)

Thanks!

Hopefully they will because I confused my dates when we became common law and when we moved in together but I sent them proof from 2011 all my leases and everything n they just asked for me to resend it n correct my mistake so I think if u sent proof showing u lived together a year before ur application they may just ask u to clarify. I was freaking out until the agent explained exactly what they wanted and what I should send. Hang in there!!
