Yeah, you're right, I just get this irrational fear that something might happen to my application and it won't be accepted even though, my wife (sponsor) and I are perfect candidates. Anyone else feeling the same?

I think we all feel that way!

My sense of dread is enormous. Things never go right/well in my life - it's like I'm cursed or something - so I'm nervous about everything.

@ Wolanila, for the sake of the spreadsheet I'm sending out my OWP to be attached to my application tomorrow and my medical and police check where also sent with my application back in January. Hope the process is going quick for everyone on here!

I fully understand this. I'd expected our application would take 18-24 months - too many potential issues (my prior refusal in FSW, the 18 year age difference between us, the fact my spouse's parents didn't know about our relationship, the significant difference in our incomes, the fact we had a teensy wedding - the marriage commissioner, our two witnesses, and us). I figured there'd be an interview, additional scrutiny, etc. But it all worked out fine.

One day you'll hear from CIC and before you know it the entire nightmare will be over (first thing I heard was 26 September and I was landed 3 weeks later).

@hockeyfan - We haven't even applied yet and I'm still totally terrified. I get nightmares about it. We're a common law couple as well, so I'm afraid we won't have enough documentation to prove it. But it makes me feel better knowing others have that fear as well. Solidarity!

Checked ecas for the progress on Stage one - sponsorship. It say's it's being processed. However cic site says it's 30 days to process. It's been a week and a half over that now. Are those processing times just a guide?

Hi. ''30 days'' is for person to be sponsored lives OUTSIDE of Canada. Please scroll down ''the processing times'' of CIC. For INSIDE of Canada, it takes 6 months. :'(

Dang, mine just says "application received" and I try calling but it keeps hanging up on me due to high volume calls coming into CIC.

Ours also says Application Received (not processing...)

I am the sponsor, and hubby is the PR applicant. CIC rec'd our application Feb 15th, and we got the AOR email on March 6, then another email the next day saying they were transferring our application to the Vancouver CIC for further processing (we live in Ontario). When I called the call centre to ask about the transfer, they told me not to worry, that Vancouver is just the overflow office and our application will be processed there instead of in Vegreville.

When I log into e-cas with my UIC (sponsor) it reads:

Sponsored Person Sponsorship Application Status Permanent Residence Application Status
My husbands name is here Application Received Application Received

We are worrying here too.. we have been in a relationship for over 8 years now (since Oct 2004), hubby has been living here in Canada with me for the last 2.5 years, but he had been out of status for about 2 years when we sent in the application (long story... he was married young in his own country, never legally divorced and when he did file for divorce in 2006 his lawyer got into trouble and all his cases frozen.. we had quite the time getting him divorced to say the least.. before his visa expired in 2010 we were told by his new lawyer that his divorce was on track, and waiting on one final signature and would soon be complete.. so he stayed here instead of going home cuz we wanted to be married in Canada ... it took over another year before we got that one final signature and the divorce finalized tho.. hence, the overstay) We were finally married last year in October (2012). But I am sure we will have some 'splaining to do about the overstay when the time comes.

Is anyone else on this forum out of status?? or had their application transferred to the Vancouver office?? If so, feel free to pm me so we can compare notes and timelines.

I am calling CIC right now, just on hold, but I got through to talk to an agent which is better than being automatically hung up on. Let's see if there are any updates with my application.

Hey Hockeyfan, do you know the difference between your application and mine? Yours is in a queue waiting to be processed, while mine is actually being looked at (because it says "in process")...is that it? Just trying to get a grasp of what's going on!

Looks like you filed in January?

I just filed my whole application in March, so it's only been a month, so maybe they just haven't gotten around to mine just yet, as it's in "their queue" waiting.
