Congratulations uk Zippy, I was actually thinking that 2013 applicants will get feedback around December. I am so excited for you, I am hoping to get feedback hopefully soon since I applied in January. Keeping myfingures crossed and I am also from the uk. Doing a happy dance for you.

I thought around Dec/Jan too. Have no idea why its come early. Having said that, I should have heard in August, but the strike put paid to that.

Not sure if my situation is different, but , here goes.

Arrived in Canada July 2011 and began my common-law relationship. Couldn't apply for family sponsorship until we'd been together for a year. My spouse has been legally separated for over 5 years and she has 2 children living with her. Applied for sponsorship etc and forms were recieved on Feb 11th. 2013.

In all this time I've just kept on renewing my visitor record every six months. Maybe being a British citizen has helped as Canada and the UK have many reciprocal agreements.

I thought it interesting that I got all the emails before my spose got hers, approving her to be a sponsor!

Just got to get that OWP application in asap now!

I applied under common-law as well but I applied on 6Dec'12 (2 months ahead of you) but I haven't got AIP just yet.

Hope everyone who applied end of November, December, January & February got AIP shortly.

Myself and my Spouse are planning to go to our home country for a month.

So in time frame they are checking from Nov 16 to February 11. And like you said they go through out red flags. I guess
If not is just like a lottery.

HI all,
Just thought I'd share some good news......

Today I recieved THE A.I.P. email....woooohooooo

Now I have to go for a medical, police check etc. But at least I can now get an OWP...yesssssssssss

I'd just like to say to those who are waiting, the CIC website says working on applications revieved on 11 November 2012, well ours was recieved on 11 February 2013!!! So it would seem that there are exceptions to what the web site is saying.

Goes off to do happy dance with a beer!!!!!

I called CIC for confirming if I can do volunteer work while on implied status......the agent said we can if following conditions are fulfilled-

1. If it's part time.
2. If I am not being paid
3. And if my working there does not takes away somebody's employment.

Now, I have to get a police check done. Since I am on implied status, is it ok for me to approach the police?

I am worried about this.......please advice.

Hahaha,yes it is safe to approach the cops!!!....they don't care about your status actually,all they ask for is a piece of ID that the clerk looks/takes a photocopy of,payment,then you fill up an application and that's it!!!!..no biggie!

No,the 11 months start once your application has been received. If you sent your application in September 2013 then you will likely get first stage approval in August 2014.
