I sent my app without medical or police certificate. I called CIC to ask if I could do the medical before they requested it, as I didn't want the lack of medical to slow my app down. The CIC representative at the call centre advised me against doing so. I was told that the results may not be properly matched up with my file.nyquist said:I was wondering how to send additional documents after submitting the application ( ie. medicals, police report etc). Does it go to the same address with the original application? And how do we know if they made their way into our file?
I am planning to get my medicals done prior receiving my first stage approval and would like to send it right away.
Thanks!
Having said that, I did my medical anyhow. You'll need to do an "up-front medical" as though you haven't sent your app in yet. And you may confuse the doctor's office (I did! And my doc reiterated CIC's warning, saying he couldn't guarantee the results would be matched to my file, since I was doing it "wrong".). Make sure to make a note of your UCI on the form. There's no field for it, I just wrote it in.
I sent the form the doc's office gave me to the same Vegreville office to which I had submitted my app. I sent it with a cover letter listing my UCI and my husband's.
Again, if you do the medical after you submit your app, but before CIC requests it, you risk having to redo it if the results don't get matched up with your file. However, it worked out for me, and I'm SOOOOOOO glad I did it that way, as I got AIP and DM at the same time, which couldn't have happened if I didn't have a medical on file.
Good luck!
