I personally dislike these comparison charts. They don't show PROPER steps. For instance the US...

Do you know long would it take a Canadian who married an American to get a work permit in all of these steps?

Hi to everyone,
am new to this but have a question need help really bad. I came to Canada 5 years ago( 2009) to visit and to see my wife give birth to our son she was here before me after a year (2010) we had problems so we separate she in Cambridge Ontario I move to Montreal .In 2012 I meet my present girl friend he have a baby girl and we have live together from 2012 to present she is sponsoring me my ex (wife) and I don't get along and I don't have the money to get a divorce cause we have a kid together and I don't have the money to settle my divorce right now, my girl friend take care of me and don't really want her to pay for my divorce she has done a lot for me and I feel as a man I should be doing that for her, my sponsor application was sent in June 2014.


MY QUESTION IS. Will it be a problem for me with immigration seeing that am still married and my girlfriend is sponsoring me?

I don't think you can do that. I'm pretty sure you need to have divorce papers before your application will be accepted. That sounds like a refusal to me....

Might have been cheaper to do the divorce first than send in your application and get it refused.....

But wait for some more senior members on the forum to respond I guess.

Actually he can be sponsored despite being married. He can be sponsored as common law only. That is his only option.

hi Azarme09, I had this situation before. For some reason, CIC tends to send you duplicate email notification... In your case, seems they sent you the AOR again through email. Just ignore it or call CIC. Currently, it takes around 15 months to process Stage 1. If you are a 2014 Applicant, you should be able to receive AIP sometime in 2015 .

No surprise when you look at what is going on in the forum. This is really depressing. I think we can assume little is going to happen in December. The timeline is just going to get worse and worse. I hope express entry doesn't slow us down even more. I fear it will. I so wish we applied outland. This would have been long over for us.
