OMFG!! Really??? 4 months!! Oh crap!!ruppcs said:Yup, just got off the phone with the call centre. This letter is the second part of stage 1 approval - AIP. Ha! I got the first part 4 months ago! They're certainly taking their sweet time. One. Painful. Step. At. A. Time.
Oh well, I'm happy. As you say, it means they're working on our file and hopefully this means they'll keep at it. Maybe we'll get another email later today! I've seen that happen on this forum. I wish hubby could be more optimistic. He feels like he's being tortured (can't say I blame him).
Yes, and her husband received an open work permit few weeks after she was approve as a Sponsor. So definitely, you just have to ask for an open work permit now ACA ;DACS said:OMFG!! Really??? 4 months!! Oh crap!!
Looks like we are in the same boat as you on this one.
Yes, that letter is your OFFICIAL AIP.
Did they give you an explanation about the delay between Sponsor Approval and AIP?
I was told this is the new way they are processing them...
I was sooooo hoping we would get AIP, and my husband could get a job before our son's bday (Dec.16) and Xmas. Plus hubby's bday is beginning of January.... *sigh*
Do you have an red flags or irregularities that you can think of that might have caused this?
Aah okay, thanks! Thanks for sharing good news!sophieee said:There are a few people on the spreadsheet who are not registered but reading either the forum or the FB group and they're sending me updates through email.
I believe they included the OWP with their Inland application.Carlaganda23 said:Yes, and her husband received an open work permit few weeks after she was approve as a Sponsor. So definitely, you just have to ask for an open work permit now ACA ;D
Your mayor?? Cool! What city do you live in??Blackdisc said:Hi guys just a call from our mayor that CIC is working on 19th Aug applications.
Hi! I might have some good news for you. We rec'd the first part of AIP on July 17 (sponsor approval) and we crossed our fingers and hubby applied for a work permit a day or two later. He received it a little over a month later - it is dated August 19 and is valid for two years. So, if you've rec'd the first part (I think I saw that you did?), he can apply for a work permit. At least, it worked for us.ACS said:OMFG!! Really??? 4 months!! Oh crap!!

Yes, we applied for OWP along with our PR application. Would be BEAUUUUTIFUL if an OWP showed up.Carlaganda23 said:Yes, and her husband received an open work permit few weeks after she was approve as a Sponsor. So definitely, you just have to ask for an open work permit now ACA ;D
Yes the officer told me I need to extend! Thank you!zardoz said:If you left Canada and have now returned, you no longer have "implied status" from the OWP application. From now on, you will have to apply for extensions. I'm sure that you already know this, but it's something that many people are unaware of.
We sent our OWP along with our PR.ruppcs said:Hi! I might have some good news for you. He still has had no luck getting an Alberta driver's license or healthcare though. :-[
I'm glad you asked, I meant to put that in my last message - we had to do a hard copy and snail mail it. It would not let us apply online. We phoned the call centre and they sent us the link to the correct form because that - like everything else with this process - was confusing. Getting the work permit was the fastest, easiest and least confusing part of this whole ordeal! There are also a couple of limitations on the permit. He can't go to school or work in the sex trade. Haha!ACS said:We sent our OWP along with our PR.
I wonder if we should just apply for an OWP online then?? And not wait for them to process the one sent with our Application?
Thoughts anyone? Could it hurt anything to send in a 2nd one online now??? Which form did you use online? It's been so long since we sent ours in, I can't remember any more...
Do you have the link or the form number that you used?? Pretty please and thanks!!ruppcs said:I'm glad you asked, I meant to put that in my last message - we had to do a hard copy and snail mail it. All I can give is my opinion but I can't see why it would hurt to send another application. But, who knows?
I believe the form is IMM 5710ACS said:Do you have the link or the form number that you used?? Pretty please and thanks!!
