IEC = "International Experience in Canada" (http://www.international.gc.ca/experience/intro_incoming-intro_entrant.aspx?lang=eng)bjohnson921 said:I don't know what IEC or PGWP mean or how to tell from looking at the document.
PGWP = "Post Graduate Work Permit" (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp)
Implied status expires when you leave Canada. Upon return, CBSA may permit you to re-enter and wait for a decision on your work permit, but you may not legally work.bjohnson921 said:I should know soon since I applied 8 days ago, and the estimated time for online work permit extensions is 7 days, though I checked and the status is still Open. Guess I shouldn't worry as I read that even if they don't decide on the OWP extension when this expires that I can just continue working provisionally. I just might have a problem if I leave Canada after this OWP expires and then try to re-enter. I have a trip to Pittsburgh coming up in October, but I will be returning on 17 October and my current OWP will still be valid, though I would prefer if I had my new one in hand just in case CBSA has concerns that there are just two weeks left on it.
CBSA won't have an issue if there are only two weeks left. As long as its still valid, you are in status. If you were to return before your work permit expires, you would have implied status once the existing work permit expires.
