My medicals will be expiring too. I'm guessing they just extended mine instead?

I would assume so until you go to appointment date to find out it hasn't been extended. Only then they would ask for an extension and reschedule your appointment again.

A friend of mine had an appointment in London for Sep 26 but her sponsor was out of town, She went to the London office and explained her sponsor was out of town and was told they would reschedule her appointment but they only did landing appointments once a month. So rescheduled her for Oct 23

Thanks for the info. I guess london office doesn't get much landing applicants there that they group them all in one day whenever possible.

Hello again,

I wrote about a month ago but I can´t find my post to double check the approximated waiting time for an interview letter.
This is how it looks my status online:
We received your application for permanent residence on July 9, 2012.

We started processing your application on January 9, 2013.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

I got an email from CIC on August 21 st. I have been waiting for almost two months for the letter to arrive. Could you please tell me more or less how much longer I should wait? thanks! have a good day!

What office will you land at? That makes a big difference in timelines. Some fast, some very slow.

So I just recieved an email from CIC requesting more documents!!!:(....am so bummed!!!..I was anxiously waiting for AIP but I guess I'll have to wait a little longer:( :'(

I live in vancouver but I sent my application to the vegreville office. Does that answer what you meant by to which office I landed?

What else are they wanting to see? I'm nervous we need to do the same at some point!

Sorry about the news. Fingers crossed!

Yeah Mrembo I am so sorry to hear that... hope that doesn't mean you have to wait too long for AIP. Please send in the required docs asap ok. All the best!!

Thanks guys,am not really sure at this point, when I came to Canada almost 12 years ago I was in a common law relationship with my ex according to Canadian law regarding marriage!!!well,in Kenya,we don't have common law relationship,it's either you are married or single,if a man and a woman cohabit together whether legally married or not it's described as marriage!!!!
This is what I put down on my application when I applied for a visa,I even got a passport with his last name!.....their records show I was previously married, when I applied for sponsorship however i stated we were in a common law relationship since it wasn't a legal marriage according to Canada!!!....him and I broke up 2005 and he left Canada 2006,he's since married and has children in Kenya!....my husband and I married in 2008!!!...now am lost and think I might need an interview to explain all this!!!

Oh no. I hope you can find some proof to solve the problem. Interviews are never fun, but I'm sure you guys will sort it out! Keep my fingers crossed!

Thanks,it's just a matter of proving I wasn't married I guess which will not be hard at all to prove,it might take a long time though depending on what kind of evidence they require!....I have an appointment at my MP's office tomorrow,so we'll see what they can find out from CIC!!......I believe God will work it out for us as the far we've come it's by his will and not our power!! :)

If you can obtain evidence showing the common law relationship ended back in 2005 or 2006 you should be just fine. Letters from friends/family would work. If you filed your tax returns as "single" after that time, you should also use that to demonstrate your change in status. Leases for apartments would also potentially show that (e.g., something in your own name). This would be particularly good if you can show before and after ("2004 lease in both names... 2006 lease in your name alone" for example.)

You should also order a copy of your GCMS case notes now, because the "notes" section at the end will probably give you insight into what the officer really is concerned about.
