Hey folks, does every police check require finger prints? I see a lot of talk about prints but my UK police check didn't ask for them, I got my cert and submitted. I got my AIP and I'm just waiting but the prints thing has thrown me a little???

Just wanted to share my experience of medical check. :)
It doesn't look they take it seriously or maybe they have so many people coming...
So they checked my weight and height, and i was still in my boots. The nurse told me "well a little bit more weight, or more height, no big difference". ;D ;D
Plus i have the biggest bruise on my hand after they took my blood. :-X
The medical check is not anything special..and for X-Ray i had to go to a different clinic...
So by now I' not impressed by Canadian medicine (although i know it's considered a good one)
Especially for that amount of money...

By the way they just gave me receipt and do not know about any other forms

Hi guys,

I just need some advise, i got aip on sept 20 and did my medicals on sept 28. Do you think itis still advisable to apply for OWP?

Thanks

Hello

Hi Guys ,

I am new to the forum! My husband applied for my PR from inside Canada,Can you plz include me in the spreadsheet.
Here is my timeline:

Application Filed: Oct 12th 2012
AOR (Email): Dec 19th 2012; application received on Oct 17th 2012
Medical done: Oct 12th 2012 (X-ray pending due to pregnancy)
Police Clearance certificate sent
OWP sent with the PR application

I wanna know that AOR is send to the sponsor or both? The reason why I am asking this because my husband (sponsor) received the email but I (applicant) never received any AOR email .

This doesn't seem to be very consistent, but at this stage of the application only your sponsor (husband) is being considered. No matter what, you and/or your husband should be hearing from them in April for AIP based upon current timelines.

Are you in Ontario? If not, check and see if you can obtain health coverage now based upon the AOR letter and whatever information is available on e-cas. I know that BC, AB, SK, NS, and PEI are all pretty good about this but ON generally doesn't seem to like to give health care until you have AIP. This is because your husband is eligible and you - as a spouse/dependent living with him in Canada - are eligible. You won't qualify independently for coverage, however.

Good luck!

Thank you for the information. Yes I am from Ontario so it is impossible to get Health-card on AOR ,but will try once I receive AIP hopefully in April.

It's not impossible as I've read of cases where persistent people have done so. If you are willing to fight with them I suspect you would be able to obtain coverage, but they don't seem to just give it up without a fight.

This is revealing. I had no idea you could try to apply for health coverage with just an AOR. I imagine it's not possible in TO.!

My wife didn't receive copy of the medical form, only receipts for payment of medical and x-ray. I called CIC and they said no worries, just send originals of receipts (keep copies!).

So an update of our fingerprinting situation:
My husband went to comissionaire and showed them the AIP letter with the fingerprint request on it. The lady there said that CIC vegreville only wants a physical copy of my husband's fingerprints and they aren't going to actually do any background checks since we had already submitted his police record with our application.

Therefore, she insisted that regular ink and roll fingerprints were fine. So thats what my hisband did. I hope she's right cuz im going to be so ticked off if the electronic ones are the ones CIC is asking for or if the ink method significantly delays our processing

This all changed 1 November 2012. Now there's an e-Medical number the doctor can give you that tells CIC how to find your medical results.

Well this is on you!
If you fit in the 80% whom get DM for stage two in 8 month, than you will be abel to work for 2 month with your work permit.
You can withdraw your OWP, if they grant you DM before you get your AIP.
The worst case scenario would be , if you apply for OWP and you get your work permit a few day before your DM letter because this way you just wasted your money. (except if you get a landing interview scheduled for 1-2 month later)
If you need the money, than i would apply for it. You can make as much as the fee if you work 2 days.
If you get lucky (DM) in the next 4 month you just apply for a refund...
(sorry, my english isn't the best)

Hi Everyone!

I got AIP almost 2 weeks ago and nothing about my OWP, We sent all together with the application, I called them and they sent a message to Vegreville, but still nothing, they said this could take 1 - 3 months :( that seems very sad because I was wanting this so much! I want to help my husband, is really difficult to live with just only 1 income for the last 2 years... Any similar situation here?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds good! But it seems that doctors are still using the
Old method. I called to several and they all
give only receipts but nothing else.
