For an inland application, they send it to a local office and you take your passport in to them, at which point they process your COPR and you turn into a permanent resident of Canada.ichbinella said:thanks Computergeek!

Hi,pritha said:Hey Guys!
i am new here in this forum and i am about to apply inland on february 2013 . I am now on compiling/gathering all necessary documents regarding the application. What i really want to know is does all of my documents that already translated by the sworn translator need to be certified by notary or my country Ministry of Law and Ministry of Foreign Affairs?
Thanks in advance for answering my question.
Best regards.
confrentis said:Hi,
i had the same doubts so i called to CIC.
Many people say they did the notary copies CIC said that your certified translator may put their stamp on the photocopy of your original document.
So my ATIO translator put her stamp and signature on all the docs.
I did the translations here in Canada. As far as I was already here i looked for ATIO translator.pritha said:Thank you confrentis. So, i have had all of my documents translated, stamped and signed by the sworn translator from my country, they even give me the affidavit for each document. Will that be enough and accepted by CIC?
Thx
What did ur consultant say about this? i also did my fingerprints at RCMP.... and send them back to my home country for police cert.Besunshine said:Hi everyone,
We got AIP 2 weeks ago and our consultant has informed us that CIC is requesting fingerprints. But we already did fingerprints and police check with the RCMP when we submitted our application.
Does anyone know why they are requesting it again?? Is this a bad indication?![]()
Normally when they ask for fingerprints it is because there is a question of identity with respect to someone with a criminal record and similar name/DOB information as you. Were the prints you did before sent TO RCMP for a Canadian criminal records check? Or did you do the fingerprints for a PCC in a different country. If the latter, RCMP didn't check your records.Besunshine said:Hi everyone,

Basically the fingerprints are for the criminal record/police certificate/police clearance (correct me if i'm wrong), so it is probably you never have had a fingerprint in your country before so altough RCMP already give you the police check the CIC still couldn't track any record of your criminal history (if any) from within your country ... It is really best to make your criminal record/police certificate/police clearance in your home country or bring your fingerprint result to your country's Embassy or Consulate General ask them to help you to obtain the criminal record/police certificate/police clearance.Besunshine said:Hi everyone,

My husband (sponsor) didnt submit any fingerprints... were that required when submitting our application?! for myself, i didnt submit my fingerprints to CIC, but i hv them at RCMP and send them back to home country for Police Certificate....~Besunshine said:We only did fingerprints here at the RCMP because my husband has been living here since he was 14 and has never spent more than 2 months visithing his home country since then. Therefore, we didnt have to do a background check for his home country.
