Hello Everyone,

It seems that we all have the same situation here. I submitted my PR application on Dec. 01, 2011 and according to canada post they recieved it on Dec. 05, 2011. I was confused that time so I didnt include my OWP application because I am still waiting for my new LMO for my new job and my work permit already expired on Dec. 14, 2011. Can I still submit an application for work permit once I got my LMO? should I put on the work permit application that I have a PR application on process? I really need your help guys what should I do ? I really dont want to stay home for a year not working and just waiting for AIP.. Hoping to hear more reply.. thanks and goodluck to all of us here....
hello julianh, well you are not on implied status now since you send in the pr application before you owp expired, you should have apply for owp with your LMO before the current one expires so u can be working but as its stand now you have to wait for AIP to be able to work.you can still apply for the open work permit but be sure you write on it TO BE PROCESSED AFTER AIP...as soon as you get the aip you will receive both aip letter and owp in the mail......currently cic is processing application received jan 21,2011 and its now 11-12 months wait.....good luck

thanks for the reply tozo so it means I have to wait 11 months to start working? Im wondering if what happened if I dont put a note " to be processed after aip " on my application for work permit , does it mean they dont process my work permit application or they going to refuse it? in your case did you sent your owp with your pr application?

This is funny. I've post something on here last night and was looking to see responses this morning but I could not find it. I've just realized that I posted somewhere else:) Either I'm getting old or I was really upset last night and didn't realized. Anyway, here is what I posted last night under other topic.

I have read this morning somewhere on this forum about a person whose partner came here on a visitor visa and they applied outland as it is quicker and she is here with him until her visa runs out although they can extent her visitor visa. Now, I'm mad at my lawyer as he did not mentioned this option to us. Even tho he knows how importand it is for me to go and see my family. Because of this god knows how many months I have to wait until I get my residency.

I'm thinking of withdrawing my application and apply outland(they received my application on Monday 6th Feb.) What do you all think? Should I withdraw? I was on a visitor visa and my visa runs out on this Thursday.

I'm confused and annoyed :(

Its unfortunate that lawyer did not open up this to you but in any case since you have the pr application in process i will advice that dont withdraw your application but rather take steps to send in visa extension as soon as possible and you can apply that on line before the current one expires....since you have your application in, you are also in as implied status till a decision is made on your application......the processing time will go down very soon as low as 8-9 months so stay positive and good luck.

until you received aip your owp will not be processed ......they will have to process it after the aip and if they have to process it normal, its will be refused so write on it as i said earlier....hope its helps

Hi tozo, that's encouraging, but how do you know that the processing time will decrease from 11-12 months as it is now, to 8-9 months, as you said?
It used to be 10 months on October 2011 when I applied, and since then it kept increasing...

We asked about my visitor visa but he said I don't need to extend as I have applied for my PR. He has few more things but I can't remember right now. Basically, he said we don't need to extend.

Lawyer also said the same thing Tozo, he said that the processing times will come down. And those dates on CIC are the maximum time limits and they always approved applications less then 11-12 months. He also said that I will receieve my PR whithin 10months :) I hope he is right.

Thank you for your response.

adrian_calgary, I don't know how Tozo knows this but I have been told by my lawyer that new application forms has barcode or something like that which reduces the processing times.

Before I moved to Canada. I applied for visitor visa, first time I filled old forms as there were no barcoded forms. It took me just over 2 weeks to receive my visa. When I applied second time I filled new application forms with more information to provide like my whole families birthdays, where they live, are they married? Their addresses etc. I find it stupid but anyway, the second time was a lot quicker and received the visa whithing a week. May be it was quicker because I've been here once and proved them that I came back. I don't know but I like to think new forms will make the process quicker :)

Hey guys :D

Was just over in Inland 2011 and they have a spreadsheet...a timeline I guess for all members. Do we have a spreadsheet or someone that wants to do a spreadsheet for us, not really sure how all that works ;)

Also, thought I'd bump the thread for new 2012 inland members to find easier! ;D

adrian_calagary,well i know this from experience and around may-august the processing times goes faster and one can have 2 or 3 weeks jumps from the processing times every weekk and with the introduction of the bar code it will even make its faster...now i think they are trying to clear the back log with old forms. so keep your fingers cross and be patience......stay positive ;D ;D ;D ;D
