I don't know where you live but in Ontario there are three documents required, each being different from the other. They should provide you with lists to choose from. The first list specifies yours confirmation of citizenship. In your case that would be your AIP letter (original). The second would be proof of Residence; ie from a list which may include a bank statement, driver's license, possibly a utility bill mailed to you at your address with your name on it and the third is generally supportive identity such as a Passport. They need photo id for sure.

I sent mine March 22. not a whole lot of news yet. still waiting for them to acknowledge the extra info they requested... keep us posted!!

Hi Everyone

I am new to this and I have a question.

I applied to sponsor my husband. the application was received April 2nd. We received a letter that the application was received and is in process. We received another letter last month saying the file was transferred to the Vancouver office. Now we have an interview scheduled for next week. I am very worried I do not know what this means. My husband is out of status and we have a new baby.

Does anyone have any experience with this situation or knows what this means?

Just got the "decision made" from my second stage approval. Omg! I am so happy! Hope to get the letter soon.

Wondering the landing letter comes separately?

I called CIC and they told me that my landing office is Etobicoke. They will schedule an interview soon, probably around end of Oct.

Wondering anyone knows how long will it take for the etobicoke?

Yes, I did receive my OWP with the AIP according to the email I received.

HI All,

Yes - I received my OWP and AIP letter at the same time also - only issue, it went to our old address - even though an agent confirmed that it was sent to our current address which was updated last March. Anyway we have it now - just waiting for my medical result to get to CIC.

As a side point; anyone know how long that takes??

I did not submit anything for a work permit. Will an OWP come with AIP or do I have to submit a request for a work permit?

Hey guys...quick question as I'm having a hard time getting through to the call centre.
We are working on getting our police certificate from Australia.
Does anyone know if we have to just get a 'Name Check' or a 'Name and Fingerprint check'
Makes a huge difference as time is of the essence here, they've given us until Dec. 24th to get all the information back, and if we have to send in the fingerprints to Australia and wait for that to be returned I don't think it will come back in time...

When I needed the police certificate, they just required like a clearance certificate from my country. If they need fingerprints, they will send you an additional letter requesting those fingerprints. Just for the requirement for second stage, they only require the police clearance certificate - fingerprint is only if they request it.
