Notice to affected residents

As a result of the flooding in Southern Alberta, passports and other documents belonging to Temporary Residents, Permanent Residents and Canadian Citizens may have been lost, damaged or destroyed.

To support affected residents, the Minister approved special measures to waive some fees and other specific requirements for both temporary and permanent residents as well as Canadian citizens until September 19, 2013.

These special measures include waiving fees for the replacement of

permanent resident cards,
Canadian passports,
work permits,
study permits, and
visitor records.

But the thing is that i called and they saying that it has not been mail out yet because they are doing verification..

We were told we were to get a decision today...the fifth....if Dale was approved as a sponsor. But today is a holiday. How does it work when you get a decision? Will they update it the same day online? Or will we have to call and ask? Oh finally we are close to something at least

I called...and an agent checked our file and said they would give us a decision the fifth of Aug.

I'm praying for you. Maybe the officer made a note on your file so that's why the agent might know. Also, did you apply in June or November?

Thank you I don't know if he made a note. He just said that our file stated that we would get a decision Aug 5.

This is what our page on line says:

1.We received your application to sponsor MONICA on June 11, 2012.

2.We started processing your application on October 9, 2012.


But we became delayed do to a document request

Sorry I was out of town...

SO when you apply in US you send your passport in the mail with the application. If you down load the application package you will see that it is only possible for people who live in US or Canada.

Of course there is a very little percentage of mail that gets lost, but I guess you would have to be very very very unlucky. You can google Los Angeles CIC, thet have their own page with contact info and their own forms

Ohhhh I didn't know that. Thanks a lot , I definitely will google that. Last night tears just poured out of my eyes, I feel so drained with this process. I'll get so excited then its like someone came and pulled the rug from under my feet and after they put it back and then pull it again. But last night I broke down. Its putting a lot of stress of my marriage and also my personal life ....things I wish not to discuss on this medium but I hope things turn around soon. New week , lets see how this one will go.

Please don't stress yourself too much. This storm shall pass and you'll be an over comer. If God has taken you this far, then He can take you the rest of the way. Just continue to pray! Everything is OK with your application. If not you'd have heard already. They couldn't keep your file almost 10 months to tell you otherwise now

Hi Goldmoon From one Vincy to another I know what you mean about the stress. We are both from Vincey but I am now Canadian citizen and my hubby is going crazy not being able to work. Between being pregnant and now with financial worries because he cannot work it is stressful. I pray we hear something soon. At least AIP with OWP would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the faith.

I hear you guys. This is such an emotional process. Its like going in a forever going roller coaster and not being able to take a break. We just have to hold on guys. hey guys just checkin up on everyone...I know how stressful the process can be but I think that things are about to change I hope that I am right but I believe that cic will start issuing AIPs this month by looking at the 2011 thread I think its that time of the year. fingers crossed!!!!

I have a question for EVERYONE who already submitted their application. So I am going for Spousal Sponsorship PR + OWP...I am filling out the forms as I write this and I need help. Someone who would be willing to tell me who needs to fill out what! I am beyond confused ,and I honestly feel stupid.

They have listed to be filled out by : Sponsor (which would be my fiance Josh)
Sponsors spouse or common-law (aka me)
Principal applicant (?????)
WHO is PRINCIPAL APPLICANT??? Me or Josh??

The forms are really make me feel stupid and inadequate....anyone willing to help me with filling them out ?? :'(

Ok, but additional family information ask's if I have a common law spouse which I do but he is my sponsor so what do I say??
