Wow! I am thrilled for you. I can only imagine how hard it has been for you having never recieved an AOR. It is so nice to know that everyone is getting dealt with in a timely manner. Awesome!!!

Hey folks

I recieved my AIP and had to do a new medical as my first one had expired, does anybody have a rough idea of timescales from completing that to update on ECAS or what may happen next etc? I'm hoping they didnt wait for my medical to begin security screenin. I imagine they would though so I'm probably still a few months away from resolution.

I had my medical yesterday (28th Nov 2012)

Wow Congrats!! I hope mine comes before Christmas as my application was received Aug 3. a month after yours.. You're almost there

yes,i have been sooo anxious! every now and then i keep on checking my ecas hoping if there is any change! soooo happy,what an early christmas gift! hope you guys will hear from them soon!!! and to those who had been giving me encouragement,thank you soo much guys!! it's such a relief! i know second stage will be a bit longer since i have a non-accompanying child in the philippines but all is well! God is really good!!!

Congrats but did you get the months right? There are only 30 days in September, Sep 31 does not exist ;D

You are quite right, why I love september so much!!
All september date should be August, AOR said my app received by August 31, and I sent it out by Canada Post by August 28..... ;D

Hey Kenny, I did my medical after AIP on Oct 16, 2012 and it appeared on the ecas on Nov 21, 2012 (~5 weeks). So now I am waiting for the ecas to change to DM . Cheers!!

I got a request for medicals on 20th November, and can get them done next week (but will cost more) or in a couple of weeks (costs less). Is it worth paying more to get it done sooner? Basically I am asking if anyone knows how close I might be to the finish line, is it a matter of weeks or is it still months away?

In terms of my time line...
Application rcd: May 25th
Started processing (mine, not my sponsor): Nov 20th
Request for Medicals letter (is this the same as AIP?, it says I can apply for OWP etc): Nov 20th

Yes this is you approval in principle letter (Congrats!!!) once you are able to apply for OWP or Study permit. I had my medical on Sept 21st and is showed up on ECAS on Nov 8th/11th and I have not had an update since. KennyStewart I replied to your post on 2011 forum. I ordered my notes this week so I will provide an update once I get these which should be in a months time!

Did you have to advise CIC or just leave it to the Doctor?

Did you have to advise CIC or just leave it to the Doctor?

The doc sends in the results - if the doc gave you a confirmation form you should send this to CIC, if not, make a photocopy of your receipts for the tests and send them along.
